Topic: Problem with "Wizard of Wor"

I've tried playing it at Atari Mania and no matter which release I try of it the single player mode will not run. The two player mode does but the second player just sits there. Would it be acceptable for me to submit a score played in 2 player, eventhough I'm the only one playing?

I believe the controller ports are switched for Wizard of Wor.  That's why you're able to control the player 2 character with the player one control scheme.

@Deteacher:

Makes sense. Could a submit such a score though? :)

@Mark:

you can play a 1 player game, you just have to use the player 2 controller.

@S.BAZ:

But I'm playing it emulated with an Xbox 360 controller.

Just change your controller settings for player 2 instead of player 1.  Here's the reasoning:

You get 1000 points for shooting the other player.  That's an easy 3000 points right there, so unless you have video proof, whos to say you didn't have it on a 2 player game and leech an easy 3K (not that I'm saying you would do that, don't get me wrong.)  smiley

What emulator are you using?  You should be able to go in and configure the player 2 joystick for your Xbox controller.

yeah, you would have to reconfigure the controller

it should be pretty easy with Stella to change which side it takes to be your Xbox controller

@Deteacher:

I use EMU7800, although I do have Stella on my PC. I usually use EMU7800 though. Since starting this thread I added a CIB copy of tis game to my collection, and believe that I submitted a score for it. Even on the lowly 2600 it's a good game.
