Topic: The December 2020 Games

I now have came up with a contest for the first month of winter, December. Every day from December 1st to December 31 this year of 2020. I will explain tommorow's game that the person needs to sumbit scores for. The scores may be posted around the December 2020 Games event. 26 users or more are need to vote and make the score offical. An example would be X would sumbit a score, being one person, and the other 25 or more Y users will get it done in a few weeks or days. You'll have to sumbit scores below. For December 1st, the game will be Pac-Man Collection: Pac-Man Plus for the ColecoVision. In order to access it, you either have to play it on real hardware or emulated. The ROM can be downloaded at https://cvaddict.com/profile.php?gameid=157. The way to access Pac-Man Plus is in the webpage. Get your Pac-Man Plus fever going! wink

@NamcoPlayer:

Since ColEm is'nt very good when it comes to second player-switching, I suggest MESS 0.223

It starts today on December 1. You can look at the Google Docs documenting the scores. If you miss a day, it's ok to post a score ago that is in December 2020. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BUId26TcZUWKbh8HrZUyO9eIzzyhV3aBenK5xiGdBgs/edit

Hey Namco,

I've got a ColecoVision Emulator but my rom is Pac-Man (USA) (Proto). Can I use this because I can't see the rom you are talking about?

@DtM2000:

@NamcoPlayer:

Thanks but that rom is not recognised in my Coleco Vision emulator. The game rom needs to end in an extension of .col. I have found "Pac-Man (1983) (Atarisoft) (Prototype).col"

Looks like I won't be able to enter this even though it's a Coleco Vision emulator.

@DtM2000:

What emulator you are using? Use MAME or MESS emulator in the "coleco" or "adam" romset. Here is the files needed to run the "coleco" zip file in MAME or MESS. You have to set up the inputs. Oh, I think you are playing in your cab.

@NamcoPlayer:

I'm using my cabinet which has a Raspberry Pi running retroarch and emulation station. The Emulator for this is CoolCV and the roms I mentioned above are the only ones I have available. No problem. At least I've added another emulator to my cabinet now with more games.

@DtM2000:

Here is a .col file. Renamed it from .rom to .col. It works. https://mega.nz/file/uBVElRab#Qs4QyKXd45ZNvlAhaJB9Y9ze3haPsm7aMA_REKiT8lM

@NamcoPlayer:

Cool, didn't think that would work but it did! Thanks.

@DtM2000:

Can you post a Pac-Man Plus score? You have to set up the inputs.

@NamcoPlayer:

I've had a couple of games but it's crap using a keyboard. I started to research if I could map a my tankstick or a PS3 controller but it's near on impossible.

What do you mean by 'setup the inputs'?

Posted by on 2020-12-02 15:29:52

@DtM2000:

I think the 2P controller is needed for accessing the game and inputs. Are they setted up? I mean by "setup the inputs" of doing the usual EmulationStation controller setup.

@NamcoPlayer:

I mapped the buttons using the usual Emulation Station method via 'Configure Input' but the d-pad or joysticks do mot respond. It's a jnown issue with CoolCV which is the emulator. I'm play some games tomorrow using the keyboard and submit a score.

@DtM2000:

Okay, I explained the games needed to play tommorow for the tournment. I forgot to annouce it this afternoon, so Galaga '88 (Dual) and Pac-Land (TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine version) are the two games for tommorow.
