As members of this site, we all need to become more active in voting in order to keep this site functional and dynamic.
Lately, I have posted scores that within a day or two will have 10-12 votes. Then, I wait another month or so to get the remaining votes to finally validate these scores. With so many active participants on this site, it should not take nearly as long to push these scores through.
You're actually a part of the problem, JES. You hardly ever vote, so you have no room to complain about voting grinding to a halt. According to our league stats, you have 909 votes. To put into perspective how rarely you actually vote, take into consideration that ILLSeaBass joined High Score 16 or 17 days AFTER you and he has 4,494 votes!
In your time on this site, I've seen you post in comments asking others to vote for your score (you did that to me several times even though I already voted for your scores at those times); you left comments on OTHERS' PROFILES asking them to vote for your score (when they in all likelihood already did). You seem to have no problems pestering everybody else to vote for you, yet you can't seem to return the favor to everybody else. Instead of complaining about the problem, you should be a part of the solution.
Thank you for all you've done since joining this site. Among the newcomers we've gained in recent months, you've been my favorite because in addition to posting many scores, you've done a tremendous job of voting for everybody else's. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Dugger, I honestly haven't had this much fun gaming in years. Thanks to this site, I've had a ball revisiting so many games I hadn't touched since the 80s. The funny thing is, when I found this site, my goal was to set the highscore for one game, Arcade Speed Rumbler and be done... Glad to be part of this, and glad there are so many other friendly gamers here. Cheers!
I'm glad our passions for playing these games has reintroduced you to games you haven't played in such a long time. Yourself and other members on this site have had an effect for me, as well; by seeing the scores you all post, I've been introduced to some games I never saw or played before and have had fun exploring the games that are new to me.
You and a small handful of others inspired me to try other games aside from the mainstream Nintendo/Sega/Coleco/Atari that I'm accustomed to. I played on the Sega Genesis when I was younger, but not the Master System; seeing some of Derek's submissions in the Master System made me decide to give those games a try. Seeing what other games are out there after seeing other members' submissions has been a fun and rewarding experience.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much we can do. Although, if you look at my profile, you'll notice a troll left a ton of comments on it, as well as on one of the scores I submitted awhile back. I'm wary to submit further scores until this troll is taken care of.
I just looked at your profile.. that's messed up. Can someone contact the admin to kill those accounts and remove those nasty comments from your profile? Arggh... You should still post your scores though. You know the rest of us serious users will vote Yes. Hopefully someone can contact the admin to clear this up.
