Photographs also work better than screenshots, especially if the screen doesn't show your name or initials. You can put a name tag or something in the photo.
What happened to your score of 1,201?? I finally surpassed your score and came to reclaim that trophy!
thanks :)
it's been a rough year for me and I haven't had an internet connection.
I'm using the library wifi now... I hope to be a lot more active here in 2021
I see. I heard of this happening to a couple other users a while back as well. I'm hoping it was just a one-time glitch or something.
I can't tell if this was played with the default setting. Default is one of the harder settings.
And your score trumps the current record, so I'm sorry I can't accept this submission.
you might also want to get the console in the pic, to show it's not from one of those other Namco plug-n-plays.
Yeah, great game for the 2600!
I played it hard for about a week to get that score so if you beat it I'll be impressed
I use one like that via the Stelladapter. I think there is a slight delay but it becomes unnoticeable. But with your usb-wired joystick I think it would work even better
This game has you enter your initials after each stage but only if you complete the stage. But it keeps your cumulative score ongoing. So I included the bottom photo to show my initials officially entered! (then died in the next level)
I'm gunning for your HSC record!
I've gotta master the dash button, I must've forgotten you could even do that.
This game was the beginning of my Game Boy collection! I found it on the sidewalk and started looking out for a Game Boy.
I think maybe the no-votes are because this chart was entered erroneously. The more accepted title here is "Google Image Breakout."
But this weird chart, obviously is meant for the same game so I don't want to vote no. I just hope these scores can be moved onto the other one.
Anyway, voting yes.
For me it depends on if the game has easier settings or cheats that could have been used, whether the evidence shows this, and also if it's beating the top scores. This score submission is low compared to the top scores already submitted, so I don't see any need to be super strict and as you've said, your evidence is also much better than that of the first place score.
It's up to each user how to vote but I'm ok with partial videos most of the time.
I'm voting yes, no problem.
I'm not sure where I got the rom but I played it on an Everdrive GB.
It also helps to verify in the pic that it wasn't scored using 5 balls.
I've been waiting for this
I've done it before years ago and that was about how long it took!
Same here! I keep finding more and more...
Meaning it can hand you your ass if you have gotten accustomed to other versions.
Rare to see this game getting some love!
I use an old laptop too. I have some trouble recording NES games for some reason, even though I can record just fine with other 8bit games. I did find that the emulator VirtuaNES records input so I can playback my game and record with aTube Catcher.
Maybe if you take a photo of your device with a name tag, you can get more yes-votes.
Also I think the leaderboards that show your rankings on the website, compared with other online players, are considered as better evidence. I guess because we can look to confirm it online.
Of course, video evidence is always the best.
Poor man's Moon Patrol is right! :D
I didn't know it either until somebody requested it. I think it's a Europe-only release.
Hmm.... I guess we should add that Expert/A mode.
Yeah and it didn't succeed x)
I think someone sued Magnavox over K.C. Munchkin too.
And Tom Petty sued Red Hot Chili Peppers when their song sounded like his "Last Dance With Mary Jane."
The Red Hot Chili Peppers sued Faith No More when their song sounded like their "Give It Away Now."
They all failed! hahaah
Taylor Swift was trying to sue anyone using the phrase "this sick beat" commercially since she used those 3 words in that order in one of her songs. Failed.
One artist responded by releasing a song called "This Sick Beat." xD
I actually know of a success story though:
The British 60's band Nirvana sued the 90's Seattle band Nirvana for calling themselves Nirvana. It failed because even though they still had copyright to the name, the 60's Nirvana hadn't put out any new material for over 30 years.
So... they got together and recorded a single and released it. After that, the 90's Nirvana had to pay royalties in order to keep using the name.
I'm trying to order it but Al still not getting back to me :(
I'll keep trying, he's probably just overwhelmed
Nice score!
voting YES, because the current top score uses only photo, AND score wins by a small margin.
But that's a strong score & at some point folks gotta start requiring video...
VIDEO RECOMMENDED for taking the top score and beating a hardass score.
HAHAHahah, ;you can step on enemies while holding the hammer
The Deebo troll -- he cheated to add fake scores to this site. He got banned. Score is still there.
aaargh! you're breaking my trophies in this amazing game collection!
Sorry but I'm going to have to start voting no on these without the tenths and hundredths in your time.
It's unfair to post a better score than what you actually achieved, even if it's only slightly better.
It's #1 on my wish list for a new game
Just in case you didn't know, you can include decimals in time scores.
This could be the reason for a lot of the no-votes.
Your time was slightly slower than 0:02:32
Should read 0:02:32.78
You can do a lot better!
BTW, you can use decimal points on timed scores.
So to be more accurate, your score should read: 0:02:37.5
I played this back in November for Intellivision HSC!
my battery died before the game ended!
But I had some photos I was taking in case the end came and suddenly stopped showing scores.
Daredevil is a pretty wierd fun game!
I don't require better evidence when the score is this low on the leaderboard.
voting yes.
I use a rubber band to steady my camera, that works great!
Hi!
I like the game except for how long it takes to play as the difficulty only ramps up very slowly.
Not a light gun game. Just shooting at blobs coming into the screen.
That's where I left off at years ago, but I've played the rest more recently. They're all great but Mario Kart 64 is my favorite. The 3DS one kind of sucks because of the controls, it makes you steer with the analog stick-pad thing. Lame!
One of those Sachen games converted from the Mega Duck. All low quality games but I think this might be the best one. It's a Klax clone. The Dr. Mario clone is ok as well.
Pretty good game!
Well-made, fun puzzley platforming.
Normal mode is a little too easy though!
you're killin' it Larquey!
I think you might crack my "Crown" trophy soon...
This game's really fun!
I'm surprised I'd never played that before (on any system).
...So this is where the music came from in that unlicensed Pac-Man on the SNES !
Great to see how much competition this game's getting! I didn't think it would be a popular game here & had no idea how much better the times could get
looks like it will need something more. Atari in view, name-tag...
possibly video of full playthrough
although I know this version and this video is good enough for me.
YES! HAAH Rock on!!
I would like some more of this x)
It looks like JES has the top score for Hishou Zame aside from autofire enhancement.
I wonder why it has you collect lower-case letters in the Upper-case variation?
Hell yeah!
It'a about time. I knew someone could do this. I remember maxing out the score back in like 1990 or 91. It took me all day, 99,999,999 and then I stopped playing Columns.
These days I lose much faster xD
Perhaps some users wanted to see a video since this will take over the top position.
Still, this is not an incredible score. In fact, I recently played this for a week in the AtariAge High Score Club contest, and I got 349k. (which I will be submitting, with video)
And this looks legit to me, voting YES.
score is low on the leaderboard.
no need to require better evidence.
voting YES.
Looks good to me.
To get a better acceptance rate here, you may want to put the video on youtube so people here can see the video. Some users don't want to go to other sites to verify. I have also had trouble in the past watching twitch videos. Today I can see it fine though, yes from me!
So I'm not sure I'm reading it correctly, but it looks like Stage 2 is highlighted.
So wouldn't this be "Galaga Remix 1-2" ?
good grief.
on top of that they're almost all miscategorized so I've been on a no-vote rampage without even noticing this cheapness!
I hear there's a lot of bootlegging in Asian countries, so maybe he thinks this is just how you do it xD
Great watchful eye, much appreciated!
This is also not a pinball. It's a video game, simulating the pinball.
Max score is apparently 999,990.
Also I can't tell if this was emulated or not.
I wonder, does "Strong Style" really need to be specified in the title? It seems like that's just a shot choice preference.
the initials being set doesn't matter to me if the initials you use in the game match your user name. ZAZ or ZZA or what-not is fine with me.
It's when a user called "Bogodilly" uses initials TYI -- that I would want to see those initials set in the profile to TYI
HOWEVER, this evidence sucks and looks like emulation. Big score, needs video and to show it's not emulated.
considering there is a [No Farming] chart for Mega Man, I don't require a video or proof of not farming.
This chart got contaminated with a farmed score, which is why the [No Farming] chart got made.
needs better evidence.
no name/initials etc.
looks emulated
voting yes
better evidence than the current top score
and not an incredible score
you'll probably need to get a name tag or something in your photo to get a score like this accepted. (beating the top record)
Even though the current top score doesn't have one either, so who knows. But certainly it would help.
no idea why, it happens to me too.
but the way I fix it -- before uploading I rotate the picture once, then rotate it back into place again. After that it uploads correctly.
I've cleaned it now! However I still have a lot of older evidences so there will be more coming lol
hopefully this one is the worst though
This picture is just as good as Gorfy's evidence, although the score is so much bigger (and a fantastic score!) that some users are probably wanting a video.
I'm curious to see - I think I was stuck if I remember right.
Wow this is a totally different The End than the one I saw on youtube!
Ha yeah sounds like me with Pac-Man & Combat. Atari was amazing!
Great game, but it always kicks my ass x)
damn, you're right
two mistakes in one submission... criminy
funny thing is, I remember noticing that at one point and still screwed it up, lol
HAahhahhAHAH! Well done! Can you slow down at all while driving? And are there any rabbits?
Ha what a fun game x)
I was hoping you'd win but he blasted you lol
Ha what a fun game x)
I was hoping you'd win but he blasted you lol
Thanks! It was my best attempt for a high score contest.
I added the 25th anniv. edition separately, and this track for the Windows 95 version. Not sure how different they are, but just in case.
@ResidentX1X -- I added the 25th anniversary edition separately, and this track for the Windows 95 version. Not sure how different they are, but just in case.
Aww I hate when I shoot the extra life!
This looks great on Spectrum!
demo version or WIP maybe?
anyway YES vote only using 1 life that's fair :)
Oh, I see. Just got a Saturn working so I can play these *%#@ games!
Ah, I noticed AMF's picture identifies the shape of the track with Los Angeles.
voting YES!
The music in this is awesome!
I think you actually scored 10mil more than you posted: 111,701,550
could use a tag, but this is better evidence than the current record holder submitted, so YES vote from me.
Was that a replay?
how did you match exactly the previous high score?
I was playing this game, I don't know what to do other than fly around getting points until I get dumped on the ground, which deletes my score.
I'm sorry to hear that atari2600forever!
This site is still lots of fun for me, I love it!
I would try re-submitting, why not
different users voting at different times or whatever. Many who vote, beyond the first 15 or 20 votes, are users who barely use the site I think.
but I actually enjoy making videos too
Or at least I would just keep smashing out scores x)
It's still working the same for me, using my "Videos" page.
Thank you very much!
But I must force myself to learn it and do it myself, or else not at all-- which is just how I roll. (Unless you were here showing me how)
I think I have 5 or 6 of them actually but one was working for a while.
Does it require soldering?
Congratulations, MegaRetroMan!!
Your score will remain at the top of this leaderboard forever
To me this is the most all-time high score leaderboard on the site!
Now we need a fastest max-out chart :)
My impression is, these are a bunch of scores agb had photos of from the past, not taken for the purpose of submitting here. Agb participated in the High Score Club at AtariAge, and the date I guess is a marker for some unrelated purpose.
These submissions are lacking in evidence by normal HS.com standards, but I don't mind accepting the ones which won't rank highly on the leaderboards.
(just my own voting opinion) voting YES
--not a monster score
--trusted user I know from AtariAge
--new user/welcoming to the site who doesn't have name tags or initials set yet.
I don't doubt your honesty & great score btw.
I just like to offer some advice to new users for why they might be getting the no-votes.
A lot of times folks will believe you but still vote no because they want to hold the scoreboard up to a certain standard. It can vary depending on the game and who votes, there's no one set of rules for it. People are a lot more lenient with handhelds, for example. But for the most part no one will call you a liar.
A photo with a name-tag helps a lot too.
Anyway, welcome ! I hope to see more of your scores :)
I'm a little bit divided on this since it's a total destruction and yet it's hard to verify if that's made on arcade hardware.
Obviously there's an arcade board in the picture and I'm sure everything's legit.
It's just that... we can't tell for sure :(
Great points!
I had to come up with a technique for Oink! to win the contest in (I think) 2013.
Totally agreed about autofire!!
Whenever we went to the arcade, we can't bring in some kind of autofire device to cheat the games!!
We also keep tracks for each romset separate in the Arcade/MAME categories
Oh, I see.
I realized it's not an issue since this is the easiest setting.
Maybe on harder settings it would be best to show the entire playthrough then.
anyway, YES vote!
This game looks great!
Not sure what they were thinking with the music tho, lol
It's hard to tell if this is the right track in the video. I may have to put in the game to make sure...
The name of the youtube channel says Ashish Chopra
I'm voting YES, but this definitely will not get accepted.
I recommend you submit this again, but this time link your video.
If you have a youtube video, why not just link it here?
Except Chopraashish already got one passed and has the current top score. Honestly I don't have a problem with this game as long as there's reasonable evidence.
Problem was, we got flooded with a crapload of entries with no evidence.
is there a way to see the amateur setting in the video?
One day a PS4 will come my way...
I only just got my first PS3 :) ... Maybe I'll make some scores on it some time before the year is over
Title fixed!
Haha it's awesome a game like this is made for PS4
definitely yes
this probably takes like 58th place :D
to win world record, show evidence of only 3 balls played
this game has a lot of opportunity for point-leeching by staying in one place and shooting endlessly.
A lot of users will want to see a video before voting yes with Mega Man.
Dang, nice technique, great score!
At first I thought "oh that's brutal there's a TIME LIMIT ??"
but then I noticed it raplaces sparx.
Great evidence too
Yes vote
not a terribly competitive score
+trusted user
Wow great score!
FYI, you'll probably at least need to have your user name or set initials in the photo for this to get accepted. A video would be extremely helpful too
It's a little different here from AtariAge :0
Great to see, I hope to see many more of your scores here! :D
again, no tag unfortunately.
most of these pinball scores I got several years ago and was apparently irresponsible with my evidence!
Very small score though, especially for 5 balls. (check the 3 balls leaderboard)
played at Blairally Vintage Arcade in Eugene
old score, no tag
doesn't beat any scores though at least... maybe it can pass (?)
played at Blairally Arcade, Eugene Oregon
Ha! you must be telepathic. I just mentioned that and now I see this message. Yeah I finally cleaned it. This one is from a different camera though. The dirty lens was in the device in the picture!
The picture quality, I was on the go & had a dirty camera lens!
x) I love it. I should play it more, and make some videos.
thedarkbanshee made some videos of it.
yeah especially for a great score like this that defeats all the current ones.
In the picture, I would never guess this is about Frankenstein!
YES vote here
Again, it takes the bottom spot, no need for tight standards imo.
This is not a score that's gonna be very high on the list. Everyone here has different standards of evidence and I don't require much when it's a low score. YES from me and welcome to highscore!
I know, it seems wierd. That's part of why I had to get me some frikkin' consoles!
once I got back into gaming
Turbo version is the easiest and this is the lowest score that has been submitted.
I'm ok with picture evidence for this, so I'm voting YES
remember the name tag, it will help a lot with voting
Welcome to highscore!
sounds legit to me
although using a camera in addition (or even instead) would improve the evidence for anyone wanting to verify that it's not one of those multicade boards.
this game is badass!!
I'm really terrible at it, just haven't given it enough tries. I never heard of it til recently.
I sure will! I'm planning on doing a TG-16 odyssey some day
I thought so yeah. I thought I remembered one or 2 people posting scores in both modes. I played it too, I thought maybe I submitted a score which is why I looked. Maybe my memory fails me!
It's awesome for a 2600 game BITD. One of the games that got me back into playing video games & made me HAVE to get an Atari again! about 7 years ago
I'm still waiting to play Virtual Boy. But some day I'll give it a try
Finally getting around to submitting a lot of scores I've been making over the past few years :)
funny, that
there are few games that have duplicate charts, even with identical titles, & I don't know how that's even possible!
That blasted double-shooter plane!
this game is really tough.
I'm surprised there are no scores!
I was sure I remembered people posting scores for Frostbite (including myself)
what gives?
I'm amazed I don't have any scores here for this. I played it a crapload. Maybe the videos are lost along with all the ones that got deleted when my computer crashed...
I vote yes on these too! this doesn't even make the national top 10.
I only vote no if it's in like top 5 and scores below it have better evidence.
Ha that's great! nice video & impressive sound for a GG.
mine has stopped working unfortunately, although I can still test GG carts - it still produces a faint bit of sound, lol
I meant to put [Qbits*100] in the title when I entered this a year ago, but I forgot that part!
now it's too late to change the title :(
I'm kinda surprised there aren't more users putting up Spectrum scores -- seems to have been very popular system
Is this the right game? Your title screen says Namco Museum in the 2nd picture.
instead of Pac-Man Collection.
This is another game I played a year ago, never submitted and now you remind me! x)
funny, I actually made this score almost a year ago & never submitted it... just got the reminder from Bamse!
Sub-par Dr Mario clone.
possibly the best of the Sachen games ported over from the Mega Duck.
Forgot to hit record until beating stage 1
It was my 1st attempt so this won't be hard to beat.
Difficulty shown at end of video
I dont think you should have to take the scores down, we can just change the title since the scoring stays the same anyway. (I can change the title too btw)
I thought at first it would be easier for it to just say [Dollars], but now I realized it's better to say "when you stop playing" since that's how it is in a casino! You can't go back to whenever your stack was biggest and say that was your winnings, haha.
I think "Score is" seems basically redundant, since the message in brackets already refers to the score anyway, so maybe they should all be edited for consistency to read [Dollars Whenever You Stop Playing].
Does that sound right?
(btw Serious wanted every word in the titles capitolized so that's why I wrote it that way)
Correction: 01:09.2 (slightly slower than posted score)
I think you should submit this again if it doesn't pass.
All I can think of is people missed the video and just went off the screenshot.
LOL
Awesome submission
How is this not getting accepted???
The 2nd picture shows where I was about to get my last 2 points. The 2-tile piece was up next and I was able to place that for 2pts. Then I was stucked.
I love that game! I used to trounce it bitd, these days I can krakk at it for days and make it to L6 or 7 but still don't win!
hmm, yeah I see good points
I also just thought of something. Who gave you that $ anyway? maybe you won a $500 gambling spree!
I like to prefer the score being what it reads on the screen as well.
Maybe it should just say [Dollars]
Rats, I miss the gaming expo. I never have any $ these days. I pretty much rely on trades and trading stuff in at the game store, or garage sales & stuff.
I've played it many times for months since the Spring, this is the best I got.
It's a really good version of the arcade game, true to the arcade.
A buddy of mine came over with games to trade and My Hero was one of them - I was so happy!
Oh! I see... I'll check that out. Funny how we really miss a lot of history. I was recently learning about history of Chile talking to a friend from there. I never even heard of any of this!
!
I'm appalled that I never entered a score for this!
I like the corsage in your avatar... is that a gaming badge?
funny, I just sold my extra copy of this at the flea market today x)
I would have liked having a Game Gear in 1988. I saw it in magazines but never saw a real one.
kinda looks like it would be a game in the Mr. Do! series
I agree w/ you about N64! But I did have a lot of fun with a small few of them. I always thought they failed by having no 2D games and no RPGs, even though 3rd parties prefered disks for RPGs, Nintendo could still make great ones like they did on SNES. Maybe Mario Kart was the best game. I still never played Smash Bros.
The computer doesn't stand a chance against you! lol
have you ever tried Othello on NES?
It's very hard to find! I got lucky when buying Atari lots about 5 yrs ago so I got a copy. One of only 3 Konami games on Atari I think.
I never figured out how to play this game, other than the flipping of the disks. I could beat the first two levels on Nintendo but other than that I'd just get swamped & couldn't seem to figure out how to do anything about it.
Oh and as I mentioned somewhere else, it actually croaked after about an hour of gameplay. Quit working. I returned it to Wally mart.
This thing looks like it might be worth a try, but I would caution, don't expect much. It's got a few Data East NES games emulated, and a bunch of steaming crap. A few of the games are somewhat playable I guess. This one was pretty rotten. xP
Fun game!
I recently added this from the requests & gave it a try. It's like Lilly Adventure on the 2600 in that you get endless lives to try and try-- how much can you take?
This was my only time playing so I'm sure it won't be too hard to beat.
the skill level selection can't be seen in the video, but those who play the game can recognize by watching the action. Also it's a small score that takes last place so I thought this should be fine.
wait, does that make sense though?
The title says "Score is won whenever you stop playing"
So, that wouldn't include what you walked in there with, would it?
voting yes on this one!
yes to 3 out of 5 of your MAME scores so far
you have strong scores! 2 of them were just too dominant for just a photo (for me anyway)
-but I look forward to seeing many more!
I have a Do! Run Run machine! I like these games!
hey I dig that avatar too
I think you finished the game.
there should be other settings where you have to destroy more dreadnaughts. At least that's how it is on Intellivision. (I just played it recently for the first time!)
finally got around to submitting this video to demonstrate the difference between the Jakks Activision "Pad" and the "Joystick".
I'm not sure what the proper names of these are, really!
I did some editing & the titles should match up now
Rock on!
I'm amazed nobody has submitted a score for this game!
fun game boy game
oops I meant 5,625...
typo lol
only tens of millions of points
It looks like you shorted yourself some points.
5,626,169,698,599
in the video
fun! a lot of games are crappy but it's great to find whatever I can, lol
but that Jakks Sega console, not so "crappy" !
It rocks!
thanks!
I love collecting the dedicated handhelds/consoles. everyone sells them for like a dollar, lol
ok, done!
since it's only in French & German, I included those words for Easy & Difficult.
Maybe you'll get to that spot -- it's basically I think the end of Level 1.
Really great games!
Although the GBA one I though was a little lacking for that franchise!
I just took a look at the game again & I'm pretty sure I didn't notice the options, so "Normal"
We should probably get the other settings on here.
Being photo only evidence, I try to play on the easiest setting but this one was apparently a fail. I played another game on Normal today & got to the same spot with slightly higher score. There's a spot that seems like a boss round in a tower, and I'm stumped on what to do, I just keep running around 'til the time runs out.
oh not surprising, same for 2600
and obviously Donkey Kong sucked.
--but I actually like Lady Bug!
yeah, just get a pic with a user name-tag and re-submit. should get a lot more yes-votes that way.
wow, Enduro action heating it up in here!
I thought this way of scoring is fine, and even better than rounding up/down.
Plus we have a lot of tracks scoring this way.
I thought [Tenths of Kilometers] seems better than [Kilometers *10], because it doesn't read like a math problem -- but either way makes sense and they both mean the same thing.
I don't see a problem.
not as good as it looks. This game is also on the DreamGear 52-in-1 (I think 52).
you can literally just hold down the button and ignore the d-pad. You'll survive as long as you like.
same game as Cyraid, aka "Bakuretsu Shenshi Warrior" on original Game Boy.
just repackaged to star a popular TV teen duo.
Adds some color, some cut-screens and a pointless mini-game.
couldn't get a very good picture because of this annoying game over screen.
score is visible at the bottom of the screen though.
This game seems pretty good for an Android Double Dragon game!
it has a lot of not-so-good games but was an amazing system at the time, and some of the games are pretty good. I thought back in the day, wow this thing is so awesome, but why aren't these games very good??
But I couldn't really find any games, either.
oh, right I guess I knew that... well I voted yes anyway and this is not a terribly high score so it doesn't need a lot of scrutiny in my opinion!
Usually when I try to play this, I can't seem to find "Platform Game" in the Austin Powers game!
good job finding that, lol
YES vote here.
normally I'm looking for evidence that it was indeed played with only 3 balls.
however, in comparison to some of the other scores for this game, I don't mind voting less strictly.
you might try re-submitting this with your hs.com screen name written on a piece of paper and include that in the photos.
I don't see the name LiquidHusband in the video, so there's that.
maybe some folks don't like the tactic involved, but it seems fine to me.
Voting YES!
the evidence isn't very good, which is apparently the reason for the no-votes.
maybe you can include a picture showing what the different settings are called, for those who are unfamiliar with this game.
Also, it would help a lot if you had an actual photograph of your device with that score, instead of the screenshot. And including your name-tag or something to show it was you.
definitely nearsighted, you got that right x)
It's one of those games, I got higher & higher scores every day I played it.
Some day I hope to find the original game in an arcade somewhere!
I think these guys are just playing around, for fun. I didn't see any sign of anyone being sore about anything. It seems all in good fun! :)
the 69,910 score matches up, and also I don't remember that "Go for the world record!" screen from any other games. I always think, "Dig Dug" when I see that!
Good lord.
my thumb can't cope with this game. One of only 2 or 3 games that just kill my left thumb.
I resorted to using my right fore-finger, while moving the joystick with my palm
Oh riminy, not again... did you fire with your thumb??
HA yeah, my mistake was to treat it like RoadBlasters! Doh!
personally, I don't mind picture evidence when it's not a very big score.
one thing to consider when submitting for harder difficulty settings, is if you can play on an easier setting, then flip the switch and take a picture, with your score still remaining on the screen. In these cases, a picture isn't very convincing, even if it shows the switches.
but again, I'm voting YES, just because I don't see much reason to hold this submission to strict standards. It will only take 5th place on the chart and I've personally rolled the score so I'm sure all these scores will get topped eventually.
Um, honestly I think this version is just frikken terrible to be honest, lol
but maybe I'm just thinking of Golden Axe
It totally wrecked my thumb!
I had to come up with a different style, using my right forefinger to fire, and middle of my right palm on top of the joystick to steer. It worked for me well enough to win the HSC contest back in (i think) 2013. But iirc, I still only reached about 150k.
I remember my roommate at the time got a kick out of watching me play every day, saying "Oink is an evil game! Designed to kill your thumb!"
yeah especially with the score going up & down. I figured if I read the manual it would make sense :)
aside from the settings picture, this game itself looks confusing.
Wow I never knew a score of 99 could be achieved on this game...
Pac-Man collection is IMO the best game to get for the 7800!
surprised there aren't more scores for this already.
fun game!
just a fyi, Wizard of Wor (although not made by Atari) also uses the right controller port for player 1.
Fun game!
great run
I never knew about Super Game Boy II, or the speed difference of the SGB.
We'll have to be careful on SBG scores, especially speed-runs!
and... could this be behind the early no-vote?
Especially since this is the Expert/A category. there should be something to show the settings.
since it's not a huge score, and it doesn't beat any current accepted scores, screw it I'll vote yes.
I've played Bosconian, even since back in like '83 at the pizza parlor! Never got much into it, but it's fun so I don't know why
this version looks great for 2600
Props to SpiceWare for making the screen show all the settings for each high score!!
Spice must be one of the best Atari programmers ever!
great run! I've never finished a race without crashing other cars!
I like your placement of the Atari too!
HAAAH!
Hilarious, I never tried this game.
Except I thought your score would be 21 -- 3 + 6 + 12
can't disagree though so voting yes
Deebo attack
cheated the vote system to get it passed.
not legit
damages the site
not community-approved.
Another re-submission that previously got smashed by the Deebo troll-attack!
re-submitting this one that got blasted during the troll attack!
I understand the no-votes considering the previous best record uses a video.
However, there are two records set on original hardware of more than triple this score.
So, I'm voting YES based on this being a small score.
I actually was able to see the 5985 in the first video as well
ha, that's graet, i didn't know Atariage did that
BTW, as for keeping the site honest... you've always worked for that I know! & glad to see you're still around. I think most users don't really get the point about voting, even if they like the site & use it a lot.
I see...
unfortunately I have a problem with paypal for the past few years & also a problem with finances. These days I'm pretty much limited to garage sales and trading at the flea market, and also trading duplicate games in at the nearby game store. (which is how I recently got a Sega Saturn). On the bright side, I have a pretty hilarious collection already, so I can't really complain.
Well that guy sounds like an ass.
TG is just too damn unwieldy for me. Not to mention the drama. Just doesn't seem like a fun site. I only use it to look up records that they have for reference sometimes. I do really like wolf's MAME tournaments though. I try to participate in those when I have the time.
yeah, I have a few games and a controller but unfortunately have never encountered a system.
BTW, good points you made in that thread about the removal button!
Fun and addictive! I've played many hours of it!
you can try your best and reach GAME OVER very quickly. It's a great way to try again and again, even if you don't have much time!
however, none of my brothers or friends liked it unfortunately.
yes, it's been released under lots of different names, and sometimes very poorly made!
for example, Games Explosion for the Game Boy Advance includes a *shitty* version.
I never played Pipemania but if that's on the Spectrum I guess it's probably well done.
This game's great, I rented it many times in my teens. Very challenging and great for competition with many options.
There are a total of 144 tiles. So, 144 tiles means it is finished.
score mislabeled on the video, but the video itself still shows 47
are you sure this was emulated? considering your c64 is in the picture.
HAHA!
I thought this game sucked. Didn't know where to go & the gameplay was just generic & boring. I had a few points so I called it good.
I'll damn know what to do if I need to get better at Gorf fast! krakk out on Zilch videos!
Oh, man I used to hit it out of the park all day on this game!
deent-da-dooH! lol I loved this game, haven't played it since about 1987
HA! I know what you mean, crazy multi-tasking madness
setting your initial on your profile, and then using those initials in the game... helps with getting yes votes, it improves your evidence. even if it may not be saved later on the machine.
another alternative would be to make a name-tag with your user name & include it in the view of your camera
anyway, great SFII run!
It's an old favorite game for me, I played it a good bit in several arcades and random places growing up. Not so great on the NES, although I still liked it. But I'm really curious about this!
sometimes they just need cleaned many times, too (?)
so goes the story for a lot of VCS games these days xD
Well at least it's cheap, I hope you find another copy!
it's a crazy system! in some ways it seems horrible and unpopular, but it's also impressive in many ways. I like it a lot, but it's a pain in the ass too!
It's I think a sequel to Balloon Fight.
Scrolling flapping adventure with lots of dangers! only 1 life, lol
"Henchclone" lol
more like "Munchclone."
--It's just a Pac-Man game
The *system* though. The system is not original Famicom.
Famiclones have different hardware.
Even VirtuaNES running on a PC can rock an original Famicom cartridge if you have an adapter. Still emulated. Even though the rom is on the cartridge instead of a hard drive. The rom is the same thing whether it's on a hard drive or on an original cartridge.
Whether or not it's emulation comes down to the hardware.
I see that's a can o' worms!
Most of the time, if games loop and continue giving you points, it's accepted here to keep racking up the points as long as the evidence gets accepted.
--but if you can change the difficulties in between loops...
what the....
definitely voting yes, this probably doesn't even rank in the top 20 scores.
I like to try to find the ones that look a little bit like my letters, just for fun
I guess named after Corben Bernsen who played in the movie Major League
Far as I know, same game as the Japan release, Contra Spirits
XD great Asteroids gaming!
is that the Edladdin on a 2600??
Oh, I see. I haven't tried, but I suppose Stelladapter would work with other applications too. I assume the name references the original prototype code-name for the Atari VCS before release, "Stella."
I think I can notice a tiny bit of lag when using that! but after playing for a while it becomes unnoticeable. Have you noticed that at all?
was Corben one of the names already, or did you name him??
it's an adapter to usb for Atari controllers.
I can't delete a score, all I can do is vote.
I can add requested leaderboards, but that's all my admin abilities.
I voted no because I think a famiclone counts as an emulator.
Maybe Nintendo rocked out some Famicoms allowing other companies to re-brand their hardware? but I haven't seen info about that.
This score's not deleted. It's currently at 71% legit. if it gets more yes votes, it can get accepted. But I think it should go under emulation.
Wow I'm surprised to see this is the first score for this game, any setting
http://highscore.com/game/?g=77155&enterscore=1
One thing I know from experience, Tetris skills are kind of like riding a bike... so you can do it again with some practice! (or at least something close-like)
Anyway I hope to see your scores get accepted!
If he played this on a plug-n-play then most likely this is not an Arcade emulation. The Namco Plug-n-Play devices made by Jakks Pacific don't emulate (at least not the ones I have, which include Bosconian). The games are ports with their own code.
So it should really be submitted to the proper leaderboard for that device.
it's finicky, lol. I just keep trying different ways when that happens.
if you can post it somewhere else then link it from there, I think that always works.
to quote a local arcade guy: "most people don't walk in here and put up a 200kscore on ms. pac-man"
maybe, but you'll probably need to get another score and have your name in the picture.
these Sachen games ported over from the Mega Duck or whatever it was they were on...
completely awful if even playable at all. This game is apparently unplayable.
It gives you randomly generated animals to drop and match, something like Tetris Attack or Yoshi. But whoever programmed it failed to ensure that you don't run into impossible scenarios. There was nothing to match the octopus with, and it kept giving me nothing but octopi. Each dropped piece that doesn't make a match, evaporates. So all I could do was keep blowing up octopi as I dropped them, while the stack SLOWLY pushed its way up so I could get my damn game over and call it a day.
pathetic.
I mean, even just between different emulators there are differences like that. One Genesis emulator might run games slightly faster than another. Or maybe one Genesis emulator might run most games exactly the same, but causes a few to behave a little differently. So the "Emulated" category already isn't exactly fair in that sense. I don't know how it can be sorted, other than having separate tracks for each game, one for every different emulator, and one for every different non-original hardware platform.
It does make sense to do that in terms of creating even playing fields, but then someone is going to have to track entire catalogues of games, something like 20 or 30 times each in order to accomodate all the different options available for gaming on each and every platform. And HS has generally operated on the basis of tracking original hardware scores in one section, and others in the other section.
Again, this is just my own point of view and not all of us have the same ideas here.
Possibly we could make an exception just for Arcade games on FPGA hardware? But wouldn't that mean we should go back to adding more duplicate tracks for the other non-original hardwares too? Like some of those multicade boards, which as I understand are not emulated via coding, but are made using hardware recreation technology.
Dang, lots of no-votes!
It would help a lot to get this score passed, if you have your user name included somewhere in the photo.
I hope you can re-submit and get it to pass! Great score!
and, welcome to highscore :)
good grief! I gotta be more careful here...
I agree about "double-dipping" but this isn't a port.
ok I understand what you mean by that I think. Meaning, not a port of the hardware, right? It took me a minute to figure that out, lol
The reason it leads to double-dipping here is that non-original hardware is widely accepted in the "Emulated" category. So, even if we have a special category for FPGA, and FPGA-achieved scores are accepted under the FPGA category... we still would have the other chart it can go to as well ("Emulated")
... so then we would have two charts for each of those games, both of which one could legitimately submit the same evidences to, and have accepted.
This is what happened when we made categories for Atari Flashback, Virtual Console, Jamma Baby Star, Pandora's Box, etc.
Some users started submitting the same achievement to two charts and having both accepted.
just to explain my vote, and why this game has been added this way:
So far, what a bunch of us have done is to distinguish between "software emulation" and "hardware emulation."
meaning, "hardware emulation" to include technologies such as FPGA.
so far, we have been categorizing both types of "emulation" in the same category, "emulated."
there were some exceptions when we started making extra categories for specific emulators (like Virtual Console, Atari Flashbacks, etc.) and for specific non-original hardware setups (such as Pandora's box boards/Jamma boards/ NES-on-a-chip, etc.)
then it became apparent that this will lead to excessive amounts of redundant charts for the same game "emulated" in various different ways.
It also leads to "double-dipping" with the same score run, as users can submit the same evidences to both categories (once to, say, a particular famiclone category, and then again under "NES emulated" -- for example).
So as far as I know we are not currently adding any more charts for specific emulators (like Virtual Console) or more charts for specific non-original hardware technologies ("hardware emulation") such as FPGA.
This is not a hard rule at Highscore by any means. There may be some admins who will add tracks like that, I don't know. Also, some users may not even have the opinion that orig.hardware and otherwise should even be separated at all. Some users may consider FPGA acceptable as original hardware, and vote accordingly.
So I guess it's an ongoing conversation but I hope that helps...
anyway, welcome to Highscore !
The picture is too bad to read accurately, but you can clearly see the 1 appear in the 100,000's place, so clearly I scored over 100,000.
nice to play an arcade game that only requires 1 hand :)
OK, now both pic and video are available
sorry for the inconvenience but this is an exceptional page!
also notice, stika's evidence no longer displays:
http://highscore.com/scores/SegaGenesisMegaDrive/TinyToonAdventures/6521
Keep going, you can do it!
I unlocked Zelda by having tons of fun & love those games
in fact... where's my star score??
man, I wanted to get into making scores on this game last year
never got round to it, lol
...another couple of points:
"Each time you die you go to the select character screen and it says continue game, with the remaining lives you have."
not correct in my opinion.
1) It says continue "last" game. (meaning apparently the one most recently concluded)
2) It doesn't say anything about any remaining lives.
I noticed it still offered for you to continue again at the end of the video. so presumably it doesn't just give you 3 tries.
if the continues are limited...
There are also lots of games which do have a limited # of continues. Some give you 1 life per credit, some 3 per credit. But just because the continues are limited, it doesn't mean they aren't continues, and we don't therefore count continues as lives.
You can request a [Continues Allowed] chart for this game, or you can submit a score of 4295 to this chart.
Obviously you can do whatever you like x)
-just a suggestion
and... WELCOME !
hmm...
sure looks like continues to me.
it says "to continue last game, start player within [countdown] seconds.
when you continue your score resets to zero.
If that's not a continue I don't know what is.
I would think your score for this submission should be 4295.
HAHahah now I finally know what Arrow Hero's all about
that was fun to watch
Do points correlate directly with # of moves? If so we're fine.
If not we need to either cancel this chart or adjuse the title. -- do you still want a lowest score chart for 2084? If so I can adjust the title.
If you don't care to have the chart, remove score and then I can remove the chart. :)
HA, except I don't know if Donald Trump can make other people more like Donald Trump
oh...
I thought you wanted a chart for finishing in the fewest moves.
So your score then would be your # of moves...
and lowest score being best. That was my understanding.
So did you mean, finish the game with the fewest points?
If so we should probably clarify that in the title. Sorry for the confusion!
thanks, I'm gonna need it to get this one accepted!
I mean, why not just suicide in the first fight, to get the fastest time.
No, speedrun means finishing the game.
voting No.
legit by me. These are the best CC evidences. video included, scores match...
no idea
I read the essay and enjoyed it x)
YES vote, legit score
Isn't this chart for # of moves?
this appears to be your score in points.
Ha, how many times will they make the same game w/ different name & characters...
oh, hilarious, that's exactly what came to mind.. ??
yes vote.
hopefully we can boost this one back up to 80%
you actually scored over 40,000 pts !!
way more than you posted.
i'm voting YES!!
This is a game I always liked, even though I thought it was "crappy"
you've entered your Best Lap time.
this chart is for your 5 Laps time.
voting no on this one.
again, you've entered your score wrong, but your actual score in the video (00:00:26.765)
is far better so I'm voting YES !
last box shoult say 23.95
00--01--23.95
not 01--23--00.95
Anyway your real score is far better than the one you submitted, so I'm voting YES !
kinda looks like emulation via raspberry pi or something like that.
prob. gonna need a video on this one it looks like.
welcome to HS.com!!
good evidence!
that's how a CC score should look
only one more thing -- include a name tag in your photo for even better chances to pass!
in a fight to the death you gotta do whatever it takes! lol
i don't see the score on this one eeither. skipping for now.
woah I never saw this game before
how do you like it?
yeah that game's intense. I remember it getting pretty stressful. We played it for a week in the HSC
Well at least you beat tboth HS.com WR's
Same here! I like how he gladly gives full attention to a minor detail :)
Nooooo-o-o-o-ohhhh!!
Someone finally cracked my score!
I hope you can successfully re-submit this run!
it's great.
One of the original ideas behind this site is that one can look to see how to get good at any game. Your submission fits that description better than most top scores here!
Sometimes it just doesn't make sense. Maybe different people were voting this time, or who knows?
I'd jus keep crushing on and on!
Good evidence, yes from me!
What I'm seeing,
The current world trophy score has a video. So probably in fairness this should have a video for evidence to take the new top spot.
Yes vote here. I only vote strictly if it's a really big score, or breaking world trophies
I tried this on Stella, with the rom I have the default game is Game 1.
Great evidence, doesn't get much better than that.
definite YES vote here!
verified! The obstacle layout prooves it's game 4
maybe some users want a video because it beats the top score though...
low score so I don't require excellent evidence -- voting yes!
Sure, if you'd be willing to delete it I'll add the Game 3 (Atari 2600) chart.
I think we can trust these modern programmers making high-quality games to have their info correct. Unlike a lot of the 3rd-party early-80's hurrying to copy Activision!
Serious designed it so Atari games that don't use the diff. switches go in the (Atari 2600) section, and games that do use them go in the (Atari 2600 Expert/A) or (Atari 2600 Novice/B) sections.
So, to keep these distinctions consistently defined, this score would properly go under
Thrust+ Platinum [Game 3] (Atari 2600)
However, Serious told the admins, if a game gets added in the (Expert/A) and (Novice/B) sections, even though it doesn't use the diff. switches, it's ok to leave it there just in case, since we did find a few games where the switches do change the game, even though the manual says they are not used.
So for this game, your score properly belongs under
Thrust+ Platinum [Game 3] (Atari 2600 Novice/B)
or (Expert/A) depending on how you've set your switches.
So...
There are two possible problems with the way you've entered this:
1) Most likely, users entering their scores in the official proper way will easily top your score, since they played the default game (presumably much easier). So that's why I don't mind voting yes, since you most likely have a disadvantage entering it this way, so it doesn't seem unfair.
However, it could possibly cause a bigger problem:
2) Occasionally a game will score differently on harder settings, giving you bigger scores and/or bonuses. (For example, Streets of Rage) That makes it impossible for users entering their scores correctly to challenge you, if it's impossible to get those scores on the default setting. I don't think Thrust+ does this, so it shouldn't be a problem. But this is why we try to keep it more exactly defined the way the categories are designed.
Hopefully that makes sense x)
28,495 isn't highlighted but it does correspond to the middle setting in the screenshot
Ah, I see. It can be confusing with these atari games. Actually A/Expert refers to the difficulty switches, and the game # refers to the options available using the game select switch.
Even though for this particular game the way you've posted it might make more sense (like if the diff. switches aren't used), for consistency's sake across the entire 2600 category, A / B refers to the diff. switches.
anyway, i'm voting yes! for the reason mentioned above
good grief!
a true marathon run...
another user had a long 12+ hour run of E.T. -- he split it up over several videos. Maybe you could do it that way, with perhaps a little overlap to prove continuity.
I don't see any lying or cheating going on here.
we were all pretty lazy with our evidences when this site got started... and lazy with voting. This evidence isn't strong for the top Frostbite score, but when that happens I don't suspect cheating.
...not the chart for game 3, but 3 is also harder so I think it's fair enough.
Yet another Zilch trophy!
one might think this looks boring, playing Defender for 2 hrs. but I've done it for fun many times...
played on one of those cheap imitation handhelds made by the company known as Dreamgear, MyArcade, etc... many of which run a NES emulator
right, and it also hurts you a lot of the time, so... very challenging.
I saw a world record of over 300,000 pts!
i did too! Playing for points added a whole other element
head-butts pay the most points, so... it urges you to bash everyone with your face!
I got Space Instigators from a guy via the AtariAge marketplace. It comes in a plastic VHS-like case which holds the cartridge in place by velcro!
The instruction manual is a piece of cardstock and the writing looks like it was printed by a ditto machine.
That's amazing, isn't it?
simply the depiction of Nazis?? Even if they're depicted as the bad guys... Life is wierd.
plus the fact that these are not the proper Nazi sign which sits up diagonally in a diamond pattern.
So, is this where Helicopter Rescue on O2 comes from
just in case, I think Missile Command TB is for 2600.
and I bet you're right about 5200 Missile Command supporting TB!
HA, this has the lowest acceptance rate I've ever seen
Even compared to a cat crapping or Rick Astley pics for evidence... wowswe...
Hi omar -- I want to make a request for you to remove this score if you don't mind, just because it will make it easier to correct.
It's harder to get a chart deleted if the chart has accepted scores on it.
this doesn't beat the top score, and welcoming a new user, I'm voting YES on this one.
wow, I haven't even tried that game yet and I've had it for years.
great scores!
These G&W games are so surprisingly good...
Also this needs some evidence of the difficulty level. This has been submitted to the [Level 6] leaderboard.
yes vote here for sure
that is not a big score at all, no need for much in the way of evidence.
Domination!
why split into several videos? maybe that had something to do with the no-votes. not having your name in there is probably the main reason.
Ha this is hilarious. I've seen the Famicom version but not Arcade. Thanks to zerooskul's verification I'm happy to vote YES
Wow, how did you get that as a kid? I thought it didn't get released.
I think Spice might be the best programmer ever on the 2600!
Awesome gameplay options!
this game looks amazing, it must be my next AA goodies! :D
yeah, great game and IMO the best version of Space Invaders!
Oh great, thanks for confirming my suspicions! Asteroids is hard!
Add a name tag visible in your video, to get more yes-votes!
6 ships?
shouldn't this be submitted to a "6 Ships" chart?
clearly not the official BBmemories cab.
this looks fine to me except that it demolishes the current top score so I think it should have a video.
no vote, sorry!
just my thoughts... for voting...
Default mode ("0") is easiest, so no need to show settings.
Apparently played on Continual mode.
Initials appear to reasonably match highscore profile name
Possibly should have a video, but the current record holder only used photos.
Also, scores recorded elsewhere exceed this one by a lot, so even though it's a hard score to get, it's not so damn incredible either...
so screw it
YES vote from me!
the screen looks right to me and CSW looks like your name. I would be happy to vote yes, but...
the top 5 scores for this are all backed by full videos. I don't think simply a photo is good enough to take the top spot on this chart, it just wouldn't seem fair.
No for now, but I hope you submit again with a video!
video not available
no-vote
I suggest re-submitting this score, with visible evidence
It looks like ZilchSr has just beaten the Berzerk record listed on that site.
Yeah, cool site! They have also released a few homebrews. I was pleased to see they listed my Super Cobra score from AtariAge High Score Club as the world record for a couple years before it got topped by the current WR holder. In a way it was kind of lame though since oyamafamily had a much higher score than mine and even provided a video. The guy who rocks the site didn't trust it though because of some previous drama. Happily, the largest of the three scores now sits as the record.
Another piece of trivia: They guy who rocks that site (Scott Stilphen) joined HS.com and put up a bunch of killer Atari scores, but most of them got rejected by the vote, since he had no videos and no name tag. They were all pictures from the 1980's I think. Unfortunately he got pissed and quit using HS.com.
Rock on!
Have you compared this with the difficulty of playing on Atari 7800?
I would have to do the test myself, but my guess is it's harder on the 7800
I guess maybe the cats are real. Just frozen in a still frame.
AAAAAGHH!
taking down my precious trophies that I won during contests!
Excellent score!
I was hoping those cats were real at first x)
what a great game.
Yeah.
I've thought about getting into making my own repros for fun.
Although it sounds possibly expensive and time-consuming.
this is once again, cncfreak's video for his score of 13,600 on Apple II Donkey Kong.
this list might be a good start:
https://videogamehomebrew.fandom.com/wiki/Atari_2600_Homebrew
Yeah it's no Gradius but an impressive treat on the 7800 nonetheless!
Oh great, thanks! I still would like to figure that out. The game would be really fun if I could shoot more bullets!
I sure would like to find a Planet Smashers cartridge too. It took me forever just to get Donkey Kong, Jr.
I just saw your youtube channel, pretty cool! Highscore.com-related youtube content (other than score runs)... I dig it!
For sure, I agree it's fine to vote yes -- actually for any reason. (or no for any reason)
I guess I just want to encourage users not to bash on other users for voting no.
Also I don't think they would be voting no because you didn't have the means to make a video. They would be voting no because your submission lacked the evidence they felt they needed in order to verify the score -- out of fairness to the current record holder.
I see what you mean, that you provided photos of the game selected.
However, those photos don't show that you played using those settings. See what I mean? For all anyone knows looking at these photos, you could have made a mistake and shown these settings for a score you got on a different game selection. This is what I mean about how it makes sense to vote no on these submissions. It's just one of those games that users can't verify the settings used unless they have a video to look at.
maybe a useful tip for recording with your smartphone: I use a rubber band to attach it to my tripod, which works for me.
I noticed myself losing points earlier in the game as well. I think it might be part of the scoring, similar to Astroblast. This game is like horizontal Astroblast.
There would need to be a video for anybody to be able to verify the score was achieved using the specified settings.
“Fair play to whomever voted no and the site is intended for people to use the no button and voting no is not trolling and we know this when submitting scores and it's to be expected when submitting scores and I like this site and how it works and I respect peoples' votes.”
(voting yes, small score)
it's ok if you've already got a score for it here... just play again and post whatever score you got that week. That rule just means you can't use old scores in the weekly contest.
the High score clubs are fun! Often I get my personal best scores playing in the HSC. (then I post it here)
The evidence is fine for me. I'm just acknowledging that it makes perfect sense for somebody to have the opinion that the evidence is lacking. So why shame folks for their vote? The no-button is an important integral part of this site.
As much as I trust you played on that setting (or at least that you believe you did), the evidence simply doesn't show that you did. The evidence shows what the screen looks like when you select the setting you're submitting for. And it shows that on some setting, you scored 53 hundred points. It doesn't show that you scored 53 hundred points playing game 4.
Do you see what I'm saying?
For example, for all a user knows, I may have mixed my pictures up and mistakenly thought I had got a certain score on a certain setting. This is why it makes sense for someone to vote no when I submit for a harder setting using only photos.
If all I had was pictures for this Infiltrate game 4 score, I would submit it, and I would expect no-votes and not complain when I got them. Because I would know that I had went ahead and submitted anyway, even though my evidence was lacking. And I would know therefore that it would make sense for folks to vote no. But considering it's not a very competitive score, I'd expect it to probably pass and it's something I would personally vote yes on (as I did here), so why not submit it.
About your second point, I understand that you don't have a setup for making videos. As far as voting though, that fact doesn't improve your evidence, you know? It doesn't have any bearing on voting. The evidence you submitted is what it is, regardless of whether you may or may not have the setup to make videos.
In my opinion:
Fair play to whomever voted no and the site is intended for people to use the no button and voting no is not trolling and we know this when submitting scores and it's to be expected when submitting scores and I like this site and how it works and I respect peoples' votes.
I don't know how this could be done without saves or continues. Same with the top accepted scores and they ony had pictures.
Hi, just fyi, Pinball Arcade scores get more support here when you use a picture of the online leaderboard. If this doesn't get accepted, you might try re-submitting with a picture of that.
It's the evidence.
We can't see what game variation was played.
we can't tell from the pictures which game setting was played. We are all more than entitled to vote no.
As stated elsewhere, I'm voting yes on these due to the small scores, but that's just me, how I vote. Other folks may strictly adhere to a higher standard. Nothing wrong with that.
I welcome no votes to my submissions! And ESPECIALLY when I submit scores with no evidence to support the settings.
It makes Highscore a better place. :)
It's the evidence.
the evidence doesn't support the game settings.
voting yes. small score.
Photo of the instruction manual doesn't give any evidence of which game variation the submitter played. Same can be said for the other photos presented above. ...So why assume the no-vote came for some other reason?
It seems to me most users here are happy to vote yes regardless of evidence. Which is fine, but that doesn't make the rest of us "trolls."
That said, I'm voting YES regardless of the lack of evidence x). This is only since the score is so small I don't think it matters, although there is good reason for me to vote no.
Just to reiterate -- There is a clear and obvious good reason to vote no here.
So why holler "troll" ? Just my 2 cents.
perhaps because, although your submission does provide information as to what each game variation represents, it does not provide evidence of which one of those you played on?
personally I've played this game and I don't regard this as a big score so I don't mind voting yes irregardless.
Some scores for this game can't be entered; it uses letters as well as numbers. Fortunately I didn't end up with a score containing letters.
hopefully Skill 2 can be recognized in the gameplay, since the screen doesn't show which key I pressed!
well, it's not a great score anyway.
Nice jumps!
I wonder, why it won't let me collect that boss-bandit but you were able to collect him?
I like how your score is an anagram for 1983, also displayed on the screen!
yeah not too common. still cheap though, haha. a few have come my way over the past 6 or so years.
Oh yeah, it plays 2600 games too. So I guess only one file-type for 7800 roms that is. IIRC that is. :)
Yeah ProSystem is the 7800 emulator I mostly prefer.
Oh, cool. I tried to play Space Zap at a local arcade here, but didn't know what to do. A couple regular gamers were pretty enthused about it and had big scores.
yeah, I noticed that. Pretty cheap. they could have just been different game selections on the same cartridge probably. Well, at least the labels look cool...
Also, you could post a slightly better time by using decimals in the seconds box.
Not to mention a fun unique game!
Running games via emulation does not violate any copyright, as long as it is done for personal use. According to the US Supreme Court, personal use does not come within the scope of copyright law. Use of emulation for commercial purposes however, may potentially violate copyright.
It appears there has been excessive exaggeration regarding the concept of "illegal downloading" which has sparked a lot of paranoia in the gaming world especially.
"Mark's been rockin' Squeeze Box, Highscore never sleeps at night!"
Emulation is how I got back into gaming about 7-8 years ago!
Alright, for now I've just changed the Atari Video Pinball charts to (Dedicated Console), and I'll re-submit this score there. This chart I can change to something else and then submit a score for it, replacing this pinball one. Hopefully that works. Then if we want to add charts for extra settings we can do it later.
That's exactly what I do! xD
It's not the best quality video but certainly good enough for score evidences. I did have a camera-phone that had enough storage to record longer videos but it got stolen. My current smartphones don't have the storage capacity, although I could get an SD card to solve that.
But for now I still have webcams so that's what I use, as I'd rather not spend $ if I have something that already works. One thing I like about phone cams & web cams is you can show your ID tag in the picture while recording, or even get yourself in there.
Also, thanks for understanding :)
btw, it's been good to see more Atari scores from you :)
I always vote by my voting standards and don't suspect anyone of cheating, same as I've explained many times. You are clearly familiar with the way I vote, so if you happen to topple the current WR and only submit a picture, I assure you -- you can ALWAYS expect a no-vote from me. If you have a submission like that go through at 100% you can be sure I missed it and did not vote.
I don't vote on whether I think you made the score, I vote on whether I think it should be added to the leaderboard considering the evidence given.
Honestly it baffles me the amount of careless yes-voting on this site, and sadly I think many serious gamers have gotten bored with highscore for this reason.
But genuinely, congratulations on your achievement anyway because that score is truly outstanding. You might consider recording one of your runs as I'm sure you can get the world record at Twin Galaxies as well (which currently stands at 473,648 by John McCallister).
Still haven't got Oystron yet. Unfortunately I can't really afford to buy new games. The vast majority of my collecting comes by way of lucky finds and bulk lots where I keep a few & sell the rest to get my $ back. I do have a couple of gift certificates for the AA store though, so I plan on getting a homebrew or 2 sometime soon. Sadly for Oystron, a few others have bumped it down on the wish-list...
Yes, I think most users here would recognize that's a 2600 game, especially when submitted in that category. I would probably put in the comments, that my notepad had the wrong info, just in case though :)
Actually, you DESTROYED everyone's Fantastic Voyage score!!
I played that every day for a week in the AtariAge High Score Club and I ended up with the top score... still not even half of what you just put up !
In case you didn't know, you can zoom down the pathways and collect the sparkley things :)
Is there a way I can verify this is done on Marathon Endless?
Actually you don't even need an account to edit Wikipedia. Just click "edit."
You only need an account to start a new article, or add a new sub-heading.
sorry to say, but Retrons are emulators!
apparently this score is from the Star Trek: Next Generation table.
I don't like Tetris Attack much, either.
I think I've played worse though... ever played the BPS version for NES? I also don't like Tetris 2.
Maybe you can edit the video and then try uploading again? like truncate at the end or something. If that doesn't work, you could play it back on your computer and screencap the playback! Then youtube would take it as a new video.
I gotta vote no on this one, sorry!
I trust you achieved it but just to be fair...
But what a waste to have dumped all those games! Especially considering Atari Corp. went on reproducing Pac-Man & E.T. in 1985 & 1986 !
A real Conan game!
To take 1st place one should really get the C64 in the same video as the score, for future reference. I'll support this though... and it was fun to watch!
Played on the MyArcade "Pixel Classic" 8-bit dedicated handheld.
I would strongly recommend not buying any of these MyArcade handhelds at retail, unless you just would like to collect them to have more cool looking stuff.
MyArcade is just yet another name for the company which was previously called DreamGear, and has been continuously re-releasing the same batch of largely unplayable crap games under different company names since 2001 if not earlier. This one has a NES emulator and a handful of licensed Data East NES games, but beyond that it just has loads of garbage games. Many of these games I already had on the DreamGear 50-in-1.
The Pixel Classic feels like it's got nothing inside of it. Also, it can't be charged but requires 4 AA batteries which presumably wouldn't last very long, but I was unable to find out because the device actually stopped working after just over 1 hour of gameplay! I returned it to Wal*Mart. Very disappointing.
Just to be fair, I did like how it looks. The screen is very nice & bright. Also it didn't cost much (I think it was $23.88). So I guess if you're travelling and don't have a handheld this would at least provide you with 9 or 10 NES games. Pack some batteries. :/
I have had 3 of those and one got destroyed when I put in the wrong power supply!
I have found a bunch of flashbacks floating around cheap in my area. Garage sales, flea markets, craigslist, etc. $5 up to like $20. Haven't seen the Intellivision one though. I got a ColecoVision flashback from a guy at AtariAge.com for $15.
BTW, not questioning the validity of your submission, just curious :)
Ok, but I was talking about the video. Not the game. The end of the game isn't shown in the video.
I was wondering why does the VIDEO end when you still had 2 lives left? (and you're still alive)
See what I mean?
yeah, on some charts for games with a tenth like this, everyone is posting x10. Other charts got started off by simply rounding down. It's not consistent so we just have to submit it like others are doing on one particular chart. Perhaps this can all get edited and fixed some day...
Only way I know is to get the video in some file format and upload it to youtube. Then it will play here. The twitch link doesn't seem to work properly.
Personally, twitch playbacks don't work very well for me anyway.
But yes I agree, you have solid evidence and that is a crazy run!
BTW, this game has gone by a lot of titles! some very crappy versions out there as well...
honestly I never liked Quarth much in the first place, but the GB Quarth is definitely one of the better versions I think!
If it were me I would submit this score under "Emulated." Especially since it's not PB4
yeah I agree, it's pointless and cumbersome to have all these extra charts. Just one Pandora's Box category would be much better.
Ultimately, I would prefer to see Pandora's Box runs simply added to (MAME/Emulated) category. If it's not the same hardware as the original machine, it's simply "Emulated." IMO., be it via hardware or software emulation.
If I had the authorization to make these changes I would, but alas...
The score in the picture is from the Atari 2600 version of Berzerk.
I'm curious, why is this Jamma Pandora's Box 4? and not arcade.
I wonder what happened to my score on this??
maybe it got rejected.
welcome, double-triple x 1 !
as mentioned above, get your user name and/or initials in there for more yes-votes!
Saw the video, voting yes
...but just fyi, don't be surprised by no-votes, it's best to make the video viewable here.
Right, I removed it!
yep, played on the Everdrive GB, which I recieved as a prize for the Game Boy trophy contest held here 2 or 3 years ago. I love it! I'm on a Game Boy odyssey, trying out every Game Boy and Game Boy Color game. I've been at it for almost 2 years now, and not quite half way through yet... so expect lots more GB scores!!
I'm amazed I never entered a score for this.
This is not a big score, so I don't mind voting yes with only pictures.
Right, however if the actual playout of the game is not the same, then it's not fair to have them both on the same scoreboard.
I think maybe they are the same (game-wise), but it's simply *called* meters instead of feet and that's the only difference.
Since I don't know for sure, I don't want to vote yes just yet, so that's why I'm inquiring.
Hardcore!
Legit. Acceptable point grinding, since there is a timer preventing a player from sitting and leeching indefinitely.
HA, right and not many people complaining about the 2600 graphics xD
it's just an excellent version is probably why...
basically playable, but really not a good game.
this is one of those Sachen games made for the Mega Duck and ported over to Game Boy.
looks right here.
these can get a little confusing when the emulator colorizes them...
I see!
It makes it look a lot like a GB color game so I was slow to recognize...
I wonder, why it ended with 2 lives left? Also, niceswoop through the pink ghost at the end there. :)
Wall*Mart has them.
prices range range from location to location, but at the one near me they cost $12.88
"... in the same category" the 8-bit ones I mean :)
I got one of these and it stopped working within2 hours!
the Data East games are just NES emulated.
the other 300 games are just a bunch of terrible games already previously released on other dedicated consoles under different business names like DreamGear. (With a few exceptions such as Pinball for NES emulated).
I thought this chart was for the tabletop "MyArcade" mini arcade machine BurgerTime. (Although that is nothing but NES emulated as well.)
However I did notice the roms have been changed a bit, such as Bad Dudes not offering a 2 Player option. So I guess this chart makes sense! And all these little MyArcade machines can go in the same category.
I'm taking mine back to Wall*Mart !!
careful voting y'all...
I submitted this with pictures from the wrong game but was still getting 100% accepance rate
what are you all doing to make GB games so colorized?
that looks like a GBC title screen (!?)
I see my submission has the same, but others look more like an actual GB screen.
I thought this is not on the right chart! Is 500m the same as 2500ft in this game?
Man, I didn't think these times could be cut down so much...
this has no name tag or what-not, but being a small score ranking below the top 10 scores in the US... I'm still voting yes.
sure, whatever you want to say it's all good x)
I was just getting tired of clicking through to all those but it really doesn't matter. Maybe it's just that I don't say how I voted unless I'm questioning how the voting is going on a submission, or I want to explain why I'm voting a certain way for some other reason.
I guess some folks may have different reasons than me so screw it! xD
yeah there is no G 'n' G on Game Boy.
There is a GBC chart for "Ghosts 'N Goblins" though.
this needs fixed!
(skip)
cool little collection... I always forget about this game. :)
Ha! nice tactics
I never thought of walking along the wall and shooting diagonally... xD
??
score doesn't match. I would suggest re-submitting with the right evidence, or with the score matching these pictures.
welcome to Highscore!
An improvement!
...
I have a request to make, fellow gamers!
I get a lot of messages on my scores saying nothing but "I voted yes."
I go through my messages whenever I log in, & it burns up a lot of my precious gaming/highscore.com time going to all my score pages just to see this message over and over again.
I do appreciate the votes, but to be honest I have no use for that message as the information is already there for me in my legit %.
If you have some information for me regarding why you voted the way you did, now that is worth my time!
So I would like to request that my fellow gamers refrain from telling me how they voted on my scores, unless it comes with some information I can use.
And thank you again for your votes, I really do appreciate it. :)
Oh I see!
It looks like submissions on this game have been accepted when people play, pause to sleep, play more, pause to go to work, come back & Play more, etc.
I think that's usually not considered fair play, but I don't know about this. I do know it's easy enough that one can play on forever. I always thought in that case it's all about how long one can go on playing in a single sitting.
I would like to know people's thoughts about this.
this seems perhaps meant to be a sequel to Scramble & Super Cobra...
So it's not a password issue?
Once you're logged out, is there even the "Log In" option in the upper left?
wait, this is a speedrun time?
Don't you have to finish the game for that to count?
You can use decimal points, so your posted score is actually better than your actual score. Probably why you're getting so many no-votes.
Well that's disappointing! So I'm curious... does it count points when you drop fast? and does it give you multiplied points for multiple lines at once??
Yeah, or my preference is the original old school Atari controller... that works too!
You can always plug in a good ole' CX-40, or even a Flashback 2 controller, to play on that console and preserve your crappy ones!
Not exactly a great game, but it's better than Space Jockey!
My impression: Sega made a pathetic version of Wonder Boy for SG-1000.
Score counted in cents, same as Mechafatnick's score under original hardware.
Oh, that happened to me with the iPhone I had!
One of the reasons why I like Androids better. If my video goes too long, it warns me I'm running out of space, but if I finish the video, it will still transfer. On my iPhone, my Ladybug score was too long and I couldn't even transfer it to my computer!
One possible solution -- if you have another camera, you can film your iPhone playing the video for you xD
Anyway, I think you scored this legitimately... but I'm sorry to say I gotta vote no, just to be fair to OriginalGamer, who has the top score with a video to back it up.
Wow, Bamse, your Intellivision is a champ! That's like breaking your leg in a fight and then challenging the same guy again as soon as it's healed xD
Wow, so that looks just like an SMS card game. But the American Master System won't play those?
You're right, Ghost Manor/Spike's Peak is most common!
(At least in N. America)
Big score, I never learned that game!
Just FYI, I always just keep voting the same as I always vote. But, I don't avoid to vote for anyone's scores including yours!
Dark Chambers on 2600 is meant to be the same game as the one on 7800, although they are quite a bit different. Gauntlet is a different game though. Dark Chambers is considered a predecessor to Gauntlet. (Gauntlet on the 2600 is not related to these games).
Dark Chambers is a port of the Intellivision game "Night Stalker," which was also later released for the 7800.
It's pretty goofy. It does have a kind of nice look to it though I'll give it that. Personally I like the 2600 version better, which is more true to the original arcade game. Surprising, since it's SEGA's own game.
Yeah it was probably on most every 16 bit system x)
...not sure why I submitted my worse run back in April. My first attempt was better.
wow, I just noticed in the manual, most of the games have 4 difficulty settings as well.
Nice! I think I have a way to effectively "delete" the chart I added. If that doesn't work I got another idea...
I can change the existing charts to (Dedicated Console) category, and also add that extra game.
Thanks!
Therefore I think the trolling can happen in the comments and discussions.
Oh yeah and sometimes in score submissions.
Ha good points
Still, the guidelines also suggest stuff like "I don't trust this user" and "Other" as reasons to vote no. The site also allows users to give no reason whatsoever.
So I think the intent is that the community has absolute control over acceptance of scores irregardless.
Yeah that would have been amazing! like someone beating R-Type
There's always the Retron77. But then again, for that price why not just get an Atari?
It plays great, one of the best versions of Q*bert I think! Maybe the best home console version.
Street Fighter was popular at an arcade I used to go to. Usually had people lined up at it. I tried a few times but it basically just sucked quarters out of my pocket while I didn't get what to do. So I mostly just watched!
I just want to avoid presuming somebody is trolling if the data does not necessitate that conclusion.
Yeah, I agree & understand it's within the rules to play on a GBA, etc.
All I'm saying is that I think my success getting 100% that time shows that 1 user doesn't agree with that rule, and they were willing to vote yes according to their own guidelines.
I may not agree with that user's guidelines, but I also wouldn't call that trolling.
that's your final score but I'll vote YES since it's lower.
I think there is a user (here's to 'em) who has an exceedingly strict set of guidelines for voting. I think this user would vote yes in some circumstance...
For example:
I remember a while back when many users were hollering "troll!" about Game Boy scores (PLUS I was getting no-votes on my Game Boy scores)
...until I submitted this one:
http://highscore.com/scores/GameBoy/Cyraid/49823
--And suddenly there was a Game Boy score accepted with 100% legit rate.
!
good to see, Golden Axe should be tracked by the "Strength" rating.
For me pictures are sufficient, but... If it beats the top score I do want to see if it has at least as good evidence. This doesn't show that you did it within 3 balls. Euphonium's submission (the top score) shows he was on ball 3. So I don't know if it's fair to Euphonium to accept this not showing the # of balls.
So... I'm skipping for now in case you have a pic to add with the balls showing?
Anyways, it's always fun to see more pinball scores, and... Welcome to Highscore!
That was awesome, I like how you squeeze out those extra points!
+ I'm always lost at this game.
Interesting. I have a ColecoVision console with that same problem. It was like that when I got it though.
I don't know what the problem is, I thought maybe it's a PAL machine, but your story makes that seem less likely.
Wierd. Makes me wonder about some of my non-functioning games.
What was the issue? Not sending a signal to the TV?
So, would I need the manual to know which game selection is called what?
Oh! thanks, I thought I remembered your submission for that! I'll see if I can right that.
Ha, yeah. It was hard to get a good picture of the score.
Yeah, usually I'll at least go up to the bar and ask for a scrap of paper. This time I was just there with a friend and happened to take a few pics. This was just after my 3rd ball.
didn't get the tag in there
from 2600 High Score Club at AtariAge.
I just noticed I hit the snapshot a bit too soon, but the game actually ends in the video with a score of 33,200 and the bottom pic should be at the top!
Skill 4 difficulty level can hopefully be observed by watching the action in the video. At any rate, it's not a competitive score.
good to see those pictures!
I like Spider-man lurking in the alley.
...a name tag in there would make the evidence even better!
It reminds me a little too of Star Castle, & therefore also Yars' Revenge which was based after it.
Right
Although I like it better to use the score x 10 for Enduro, sometimes, this is just the way it goes.
Yes, it's fine to give a reference for the video hosted elsewhere. However, some users may not want to go elsewhere to verify a score. It's fine but still may cause more no-votes.
No, it's not possible to upload video directly to HS, but if you have the video you can upload to youtube and then "Add Evidence" and choose youtube, so it will play for users to see right here.
I'm glad to see this got accepted!
I see, well although that does technically increase my chances of making it there, it's still basically zero chance. But one of these days...
hi Karalla!
to show the score is for "Expert" game, use the screen showing the dice-symbols
HAHAA fallenone hijacked your vote buttons!
I had to go to the comments so I can vote...
Score @ beginning, followed by demonstration of how to do it.
I am fortunate to know a guy who hunts for stuff to sell on ebay. He doesn't know (or care) much about pre-NES video games so he brings it all to me to test & explain... then he gives me stuff for the help (which is how I got this).
It has flipper-buttons on the sides :)
HAHAHAHA, well this more than fulfills my expectations based on the title.
I never knew about this game, is that a homebrew? Looks impressive!
I think it duplicates the picture when you refresh the page just after adding the evidence. At least that's what it does with comments.
Everything under "More Settings" is left at default.
Awesome game! 8D
The Modes adjust what character/s to use and how they power up. Survival Mode does not allow you to collect 1-ups which is why it has a special chart.
...And very kind of Tool not to care if their material is in videos!
Loved this game!
No idea why they didn't release it in the US for NES?? The Vs. game was in arcades everywhere.
YES vote here, saw the video.
for future reference, you may get fewer no-votes by puttin the video up here as well.
Run starts @ 3:30
for people familiar with the game, Skill 4 can be recognized by the frenzied pace at the outset.
That was the first game I ever played on a computer! (I think it was called Jungle Hunt)
It had ascii-graphics
you might get 1 more YES vote... by hitting "TAB" for the menu to show DIP settings.
anyway I vote YES.
How can we know what level and difficulty this was played on ?
I think it plays Sega Mark I & SG-1000 games as well iirc. It actually has a whole list of systems it emulates.
Yeah! I was amazed I'm the first to post for the Genesis version, emulated or otherwise!
I have a ColecoVision, but when it's not hooked up, or when I want to play a game I don't have, I use BlueMSX. It's an MSX2 emulator which also plays CV games.
I don't know if it helps or not, but I've used webcams and also phone camera to record video when I play on PC.
Also, when playing on MAME I sometimes record inp, then record a video of the playback. This is a little more tedious, but also convenient not to have to film every run when trying for a score. So I just make a bunch of inp's and then film, say, "Take 36," whatever is my best run.
The music in this game reminds me of Goonies, and Bandit Kings of Ancient China !
Damn, great job!
I've been gunning for 1mil in this game for ever!
maybe some day...
