Just want to say I'm happy seeing all the video submissions here, I'm voting yes on them because the ID and the game looks legit from this side of things.
I don't see any rules for this game that prevent score spamming necessarily, but yes, I also agree this needs video and more proof.
Going to yes vote this due to previous trust in scores, but would love to see this turn into a video with something like OBS in the future. It's easier than ever to do.
This is a great idea. Would love to see the process of playback with the INP. I'm not sure that would put me over the edge, but I'd feel better about it.
Settings check out on this one, I appreciate the fact it has video, I'm OK with accepting this.
Confirmed, 75 looks like the default.
Other thing of note here. He's got the ROM labeled as "outrunb", which according to a quick look at my frontend, actually represents Outrun (Bootleg). Now for kicks, I thought, maybe the bootleg version defaults at 80 and not at 75, but that's not the case. Mine is showing 75 as well on the bootleg ROM.
So, sadly, yeah, this probably can't be counted. Sad thing is, based on that score, it wouldn't take much practice to get there, he finished with plenty of time ... but, it WOULD have been 5 mil less.
How is the emulation on this? Looks pretty solid.
What device are you playing on?
Yeah, don't beg, just allow it to happen through time. Really, the best way to do this is to tweet out, I think the site has a way for you to advertise people to help vote through Twitter.
As for this, which web site are you using? Don't doubt the legitimacy, just curious where this was played at.
I gotta know, does the music help you play better? :)
Full video, ID showing what you've done here, I'm okay with this.
Can't go with just the "high score" video here w/o any other sort of identification.
Voting no strictly for the reason of not having a full video. If we do not want to allow the point-farming, we should make sure that gets added to the rules for this game so that it's crystal clear that you shouldn't.
Definitely love video for this kind of stuff, but have no reason to think this isn't legit. Voted yes.
Need to get playing more again, been slacking. :)
(Also was hopeful we'd have a full season point difference, I'll have to resubmit for that)
First instance of a +16 game is at 18:20. Pretty sure it happened other times too.
Also +115 for the season (9 games)
I am guessing that the reason is because it's trying to show a large screenshot in a very enclosed amount of space. Makes sense that opening them in a new window would resolve that issue.
Cool case, where'd you get it?
Accepting it ... but in fairness, you did cut yourself down by 50 points. :)
1) Was this a FDS hack or a genuine FDS game?
2) I'd honestly give you the 1480 since you can see it just before the crash, but fair enough, it's all legit. :)
I can't trust a game where it didn't happen that game and I'm just looking at a screenshot. Have to vote this down, sorry.
Next time, camera shot with username noted, and get it on the actual game you score high on.
S.BAZ, are you high enough on the totem pole to ban these people who troll?
Should we split up normal and arcade modes?
Right, but everything that ichigokurosaki1991 is talking about a PS3 other than the original 60GB PS3 (which if I remember correctly, it only had hardware processing of PS2 and PS1 games were still emulated there).
This is on a PS2, which can natively play all PS1 games, in a way that I could not consider emulation. We maybe need a judgement from the higher-ups on this.
I'm sure there are people that will only trust a video, and right or wrong, that's fair of them to think of it that way. If a user has good rep in general, I am willing to trust a good screenshot, especially if I can't find changeable difficulty modes for the game. I also like to find videos to see if there's settings in-game that aren't seen on a screenshot.
That's my thoughts on it. This game looks straight-forward, I trust it, voting yes.
Looks good. Don't forget to add an annotation so that it helps show that it's yours, a lot of people do that.
Gotta be the bad guy and vote no only because I don't think this should be categorized under the general Atari 2600 group, it should be under either the A Difficulty or the B Difficulty settings as they matter here, plus this game has 8 modes (although realistically four of them matter for high scores, 1, 3, 5, 7).
Score doesn't tell me which track it's under, so hopefully we can get more info on that and put this in the right place.
Can't quickly find any options about different game modes, and previous rep tells me this is good. Voting yes.
This game has six modes, I am assuming this is Mode 1 because that's a normal game. Should we break this up into tracks for each difficulty? (This should live here though because the difficulty switches do not matter for Fantastic Voyage)
N/M, read up on it, there's likely not enough info to determine this being a rare game and only having the ROM released. We'll vote it yes for now.
Does this gave have different modes or variations with the difficulty switches? Should it be put into a separate track as a result?
How well does the vertical play with this?
This is a fun game when you can find it. I have a high of 23,000 of it at Arcade Legacy in Cincinnati, but seeing as the only evidence is my name on the chalkboard at the bar, I think I'm gonna have to repeat it. :)
supertibi10, go download OBS and use that for screen capture. You can use that to setup an overlay too that can either have highscore.com in the background or can have your username and a date/time on-screen.
I suppose the exception to this would be if you're using a Raspberry Pi, then you would need to vidcap it, but in this case, help us understand your setup and if it's a Raspberry Pi, take some photos of your setup to go with your screenshot to help us understand how you're playing to help your rep.
If you're using a computer, you should download OBS, and make a quick overlay that has the screen, maybe your username and highscore.com, and a date/time. You should be able to do this and record even with a Core 2 Duo, even a video at 480p is better.
What version of Minesweeper is this? Where can we download it or obtain it? This doesn't look like the official one.
Agree on this, there's not much to differentiate the PS4 version here, and I'd like to see more info. Especially since the PS4 can do video, it would be cool to see some video support here.
Absolutely is. Get OBS Studio, it's sensational for this kind of stuff. I recommend using it to make an overlay that includes highscore.com and your username there, maybe even a current date/time. All very doable.
Can you tell us more about your setup? This looks to be on a legit Astro City cabinet, although obviously they never made Asteroids for that.
Oh nice, so an emulator within an emulator, nice! Did we ever figure out the selectable mode thing?
You are aware we can hear the background audio, right? :)
(I don't care, it's all totally legit, I just found it amusing!)
So I'm gonna ask a dumb question here. Even though you're playing with a CD-R disc, you're using real hardware. So that said, why should this be in the emulated category and not in the real hardware category?
Can this game be played on both score and time? Should we break those up into different categories before this is voted on?
Also, are there multiple selectable modes on this? I honestly don't know.
The Odyssey2 definitely was not made as a good system for porting games into, that's for sure!
What emulator did you use to get this? Just curious.
Let's just go ahead and get out of the way that this wasn't captured correctly, and move on.
Accepting based on previous rep for sure, understand where you're coming from here.
My go-to on an emulator is usually to take a screenshot of the entire screen if you're playing in a window, or a recording if you go full screen. If there's even the slightest worry it might not be good or some ID to do with it, hard to accept.
It's probably 95% legit but needs a bit more proof to be foolproof, espeically when all we see is a high score board.
Great score, accepting. Is this a remake of Burai Fighter?
Surprised no one had posted a score on this. Yeah, hard to read but it looks legitimate, I'm going to go ahead and accept.
What arcade / place did you set the score at?
I like how you're capturing these. Outside of taking video, I don't think there is much more you can do and that's hard to do in that kind of environment.
Dang, I gotta make a run of this, think I could pull it off. Accepted, looks good.
I can't accept a roll call of high scores as a WR on this one. For one, no one should be expected to go through three minutes of wading through high scores to see just a single one. Second, there's no gameplay in this.
(Repeat of comment on previous post, have a feeling I'll need to copy/paste this for each entry. I don't doubt you did it, but there's no real gameplay here showing the actual event.)
Agree with the crowd here, I'm just going to abstain until I see a video. Definitely recommend running the video through something like DVDFab or Handbrake that can do some decent compression on it and see if that lowers the size. 122GB is certainly a handful to upload depending on your connection quality, but I have to think it can be made better.
How long is the video, out of curiousity?
Good score on this game, voted to accept. Yeah, Dreamcast emulation has gotten quietly pretty good over the years, and especially on a game like this that is more 2D related, I can see where recording plus playing with decent specs (good i5 maybe?) would be more than possible.
Can't wait to see more scores!
Yeah, those places are pretty bad about that. I would be okay with voting for it if you re-uploaded it without the music and just noted why the music isn't in there. I don't know how others feel about that but I'd be game for it.
HSC Season 4, Week 19, JORGEN Contest?
(Score's good, just curious what this is)
Great job, appreciate the fact it was done on stream.
Looks like the company who makes the game claimed it (which is kind of lame). I do have additional questions:
1) What version of MAME did you use?
2) Is the .inp file available for testing?
3) If I hosted it, would you be able to post the video?
Is Colpax the game developer?
Can I just say how awesome it is to have a food truck with an arcade cab in it? :)
Score looks good.
I'm maybe being overly picky here, but does the game allow you to capture the score before you get to a high score screen? Would have loved to see something from the actual game itself, or even a capture with a tool like FFSplit since it's just a PC window.
The video definitely sells it, well done!
Where did you get the controller plugin?
I get the urge to do videos, but considering I've upvoted other stuff he's done, I see no reason not to upvote this too.
Is this game Cybernoid with a different name, or just similar developer?
Internet Archive has this? I remember having this on my 386 at home! :)
Dangit, you had to put up a score that is physically impossible to beat! :)
(Good job, voting up)
What's your emulator of choice? Retroarch?
If you end up getting one and need any help, let me know, I'll do what I can.
(And if you don't need HDMI and just composite or S-Video, there's USB dongles that'll do it dirt cheap)
I think this is why I ended up with Atari800Win Plus, it just ended up being easier. MESS might be easier on that front too.
For what it's worth I am a huge fan of FFSplit for recording from emulators (and heck, if you're using a Wii, maybe a basic AV capture is in play too). If you need help on FFSplit, I'm happy to help.
He's 100% right. I owned this as a kid, and you do indeed get that trophy once you hit 10,000 to save space.
I so wish I still owned one of these, played the heck out of the one I had.
Nice site, I knew there were a ton of generic tablets like this, never knew there were THIS many!
What capture card do you use?
Absolutely loved this port of the game!
Speaking of The Last Starfighter ...
Some friends I know raging on the game.
Can you add a Play Store link? Wouldn't mind trying this out.
What's the ideal emulator for this one, and is it trackball emulated?
Does it play ok with a trackball?
Copied from another comment:
The F button allows you to turn on Fast Asteroids, the B button turns on and off Bounce, and the F4 key (at least for me) changes the main mode. F2 is what I use to start the game, and then it's arrow keys and a fire button.
I do remap the fire button from the default RIGHT CTRL over to a button on my G13 speedpad so I can play two-handed, more of a comfort thing. You can use a joystick but it really doesn't let you "map" in the traditional sense. Tried using a fightstick I had for an arcade feel, but the button I'd actually want to use for FIRE actually paused the emulator!
MESS is also an option for this if you want to customize the controls a little more finely.
BTW, I 'm more than happy to send the cartridge file I used around, just PM me.
Props for showing off the actual board since this looks like a custom arcade build. :)
There's a slight bit of pain for voting your own score off of the top of the board, but you know what? That's a heck of a run! Hopefully with some practice I'll regain this soon.
There is always stuff like dc-sd out there, might save your laser big time.
