This may very well be the worst version of Mortal Kombat ever made, but it was a game that I had and played constantly as I kid so I have a real soft spot for it in spite of it's sluggish controls. It also happens to be the only version of Mortal Kombat I know of that lets you play as Goro without using a Game Genie, though for this high score run I played as Sub Zero. =)

@omargeddon:

I can't say I've ever played the SNES version, but I can tell you that the European exclusive Sega Master System port of Mortal Kombat might actually be worse than the Game Boy version in the control department. The SMS version did have blood and proper fatalities though, and I always thought it was cool for those reasons. To the Game Boy's credit though it does have an excellent version of Mortal Kombat II. =)

I'll definitely have to check it out at some point if I ever get a Sega CD. The Genesis / Mega Drive version is my #1 favorite port of Mortal Kombat and it sounds like the Sega CD version is even closer to the arcade original, except with a bit of normal CD load times.
