Yes, since version 0.180 mame merged with mess, so you can play arcades, consoles, computers and even handhelds...The amstrad support is quite good, but some games crashes or the inputs get disabled sometimes. Give it a try.

Yep, I've been playing most of the consoles in MAME for a while now and use RetroArch for a few others. Playing the Amstrad on this was 200 times better than the stand alone CPCE emulator I was using. The only issue I have is quitting out of games. ESC normally closes the game out just fine for all consoles except this one for some reason. Do you have the same issue?

That issue is because in mame there is 2 modes for using the keyboard: one for enabling the special keys, and other for emulating 100% the keyboard. For enabling the special keys for the mame internal gui, you need to hit scroll lock, then you can hit tab to show the gui or esc to exit the emu.
