I still can't understand for the life of me why they don't grant you an extra life.  That's really nuts, but U. S. Games didn't really have what it took to compete back then (none of their games were hits).

U.S. Games, and their sister label Vidtec, were owned by Quaker Oats. They were competing against General Mills, who at the time owned Parker Brothers. Quaker Oats got out of the gaming industry when they finally realised that they couldn't compete on the same level has Parker Brothers.

Yeah, I know.  I remember a quote from their spokesman stating that, when none of their games became hits and that once the crash happened they just "decided to drop it", rather than continue to try to pour more money into the company.

They did make some good games. But the difficulty is so high on these noone wanted to play them. I think of all the games only Space Jockey was the easy one lol.
