Saw this listed and just had to have a quick go. Gridder is one of my very first C64 gaming experiences from back in primary school. The directory listing in the first image is actually a copy of the very disk my mates and I used to load back in 1987. My theory is that my awesome IT teacher was file-copying for the first time - thus the heading "Experiments".

This is a pretty wimpy score though - my PB is around 10 k. The AI is very easy to manipulate so going higher shouldn't be too hard.

I got reminded of Gridder's fun simple gameplay when I got to play Amidar for the MGL in 2018.

Most of my floppy's give me read errors or maybe it's my 1541. So got myself a 1541 Ultimate. Great devices.. Frankie is a very good Amidar genre player too.
