Have to say that this version of centipede is worse than the one for Atari 2600. The pattern is so random compared to the arcade version, or arcade emulated version. Yes! I'm a sour loser! -- Posted by AkinNahtanoj on 2020-08-30 16:47:01

Yes! I'm a sour loser! No you're not, this release was monstrously slammed back in the day. When you've got three ported games and the best one of them is Pong when the Master System (and Genesis as well) were both more than capable of doing all ports decently that's pretty pathetic! In contrast, Williams Arcade's Greatest Hits for the Genesis with Defender, Stargate, Robotron: 2084, Joust and Sinister had twice as many games and it was great.
@DarrylB:
Oh, this version had Breakout rather than Pong. The Genny version had Pong, I just hadn't watched your video yet. What the hell? They combined elements of Centipede with Millipede. Whatever!
@DarrylB:
Yeah they did! "I'm a sour loser", because I don't have the stamina to beat the top score. But I'm really glad that highscore.com exists. It gives even crappy games a new glare, just to try to beat that score. But yeah, they combined Centipede with Millipede. Centipede in my oppinion is one of the best games of all time, totally floats my boat. But this version? Nah. -- Posted by AkinNahtanoj on 2020-08-31 03:51:18

"I'm a sour loser", because I don't have the stamina to beat the top score. Oh ok, I'm a sore loser too :D If someone beats a score of mine I usually don't vote for it. I don't vote "no" though. But I'm really glad that highscore.com exists. Yes, I like this site quite a bit even though I'm nowhere near as active as I first was. Maybe someday... But yeah, they combined Centipede with Millipede. Centipede in my oppinion is one of the best games of all time, totally floats my boat. But this version? Nah. It actually looks...*interesting*, to put it that way. Just why not do a port of the original, like all us grumpy old school gamers want? We're fed up with them changing things! |
