OK. This is likely going to be controversial. I used 3 credits in this game. Yes, I know, using credits is against the rules. However, in Blasteroids, the credits seem to act as lives. The idea seems to be that players 1 and 2 can share the 3 extra lives (aka credits) between them, and the game does not end until that happens.

There's no Continue? screen. No Game Over until you've used all credits. There's absolutely no way to end your game and enter your high score until you have used up all 3 credits. In fact, you can't even see your final score until you have used up all 3 credits (see around the 7 minute 45 second mark)

The current leader definitely used up all the credits, as his score is showing in the high score table.

Happy to take this score down if everyone disagrees. My final score is at around 24 minutes 30. The game should be taken off the site if that's the case though.

There's at least one other game in this database that I know of (could be several more on top of that too) where there's credits you can't give around.  After he explained that to me I gave him a yes vote.  I'd guess this one is ok as well.

"You can't get around", I should've said, along with maybe I should've said that, with an aforementioned game (whatever it was) was explained to me by someone on here about the mandatory credit deal, I gave him the yes vote.  Geez (I didn't get enough sleep last night, so...)...

You're right.

Right off the bat I voted yes due to the current top player doing the same thing as you pointed out.

Normally, majority of the time, when a game gives you 3 or however many credits it equals continues not lives. The original arcade you only get 1 ship/life. Your score should have been 106440, when you used the second credit/continue the score was 106490 so a difference of 50pts in a 100K+ score is nothing. There are plenty of games that don't have a highscore table and as soon as you die the score disappears forever so a screenshot at the moment of death or right before death is needed. This should have been one on those games but now it's the 3 credit version so in that case, yeslaugh

I'm with you also Trickster.  RoadBlasters for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive also has a similar situation.  When you run out of fuel it tells you that you have two credits remaining (or however many you do have,) instead of just giving you a continue screen.  So I'm voting yes.

Thanks everyone for your responses and support. I wish we could change the description on this game to say 3 credits, but I guess we will just have to hope any future players see this discussion.

I'll give yes too. Played that a lot on real hardware around 1993-1994. Good game.
