That's a nice score! What are the rules here? Can I start on any level I want to using medium or high? I almost always get up to at least level 22 or 23 on high and sometimes get to 24 and beyond; however, I have no problem going many levels past 20 on medium. Starting at level 20, I've had over 600k and 700k before on medium. -- Posted by DuggerVideoGames on 2016-04-08 22:24:42

thanks! only rule i know is "Play with default settings unless otherwise specified." so I think that means play on medium as far as start level ~as with tetris~ I think it's ok to pick any unless otherwise specified. pick any is default. but that's obviously murky & debatable x) however under GBA it's clearly specified, 00 start or Any Level start. ... here, "not specified." i start at 00 to build up a bunch of points before it gets hard, considering I suck at L20+ I feel lucky to make it to level 22 or 23 on any speed, so i tend to think if you don't mind skipping the easy levels on a score run, props! if you've got the skills to skip the extra hour of slow-scoring Dr Mario action & still come out ahead looks like someone might finally bump my dr mario scores

Since you got these by starting out on the lower levels, I might wait before bumping your scores. Give yourself an opportunity to bump your own scores first. Since you claim you're not very good at LV 20, why not start on LV 15 and see what you can get? Once you fail (presumably at 20 or higher), then try again starting on 20. -- Posted by DuggerVideoGames on 2016-04-09 04:35:05

Better yet, you can keep your scores here. If I get around to trying to post a Dr. Mario score on this site, perhaps I'll just put in a request with my own custom rules (start on LV 20 Medium, start on LV 20 high, etc.). -- Posted by DuggerVideoGames on 2016-04-09 04:37:31

Not sure if you knew this, but the game's actually harder on an emulator than it is on the NES itself. With the NES controller, you could hold your left or right pad and the pills would usually slide all the way over with no delay; however, there's a very slight delay on the emulator. You can still slide your pills all the way over on level 20, but only for a while. On the NES, you can go much longer and still slide your pills all the way over in the top corners. -- Posted by DuggerVideoGames on 2016-04-09 04:39:48
