@Scorechaserpony:

If you like the MegaMan games then you'll love the Battle Kid series of homebrew for the NES. They are tough though. Really tough! They are available from ReroUSB. I need to order more NES homebrews as I'm falling behind.

http://www.retrousb.com

The NES homebrews that I have from them so far:

2-in-1 Geminim/Siamond
Airball
(Dicontinuted; Tengen port for the NES that was cancelled prior to completion. This version was completed by RetroUSB) CIB
Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril (Version 1.000; Discontinued)
Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril (Version 1.100) CIB (there's now a Battle Kid 2)
Chunkout (Discontinued; There is now a Chunkout 2)
Glider (Discontinued)
Larry and the Long Look For a Luscious Lover (Discontinued; For Adults Only)
Mystic Pillars
Nomolos: Storming the Catsle
(Discontinued) CIB
Sneak n Peak (Discontinued)
Untimate Frogger Champion
Study Hall
Super NeSnake
(Discontinuted; There is now a Super NeSnake 2)

RetroUSB's carts are really cool. They come in a variety of colors, are brand new carts (no doner carts), and they contain the Cyclone chip, which makes them compatible for both NTSC and PAL standards.

@Scorechaserpony:

I was turned on to the game by a good friend of mine on YouTube, "Guru" Larry Bundy, Jr. (he's in the U.K.).

https://www.youtube.com/user/LarryBundyJr

We've know each other forever it seems. Anyway, he did the artwork for the Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril (Lable, Manual, Box Art).

As I mentioned, I have two versions of that first Battle Kid game. Version 1.000 (Discontinued; I got the last copy), and Version 1.100 (still available). The main difference is that version 1.000 is far too dificult, so they altered the code to make it a little easier. It's still tough though.
