What I meant to say is there are following game titles on this site that has a bug.

Posted by on 2016-08-31 21:52:03

could you give more details on the bug in question?
If I had the game, I would try to submit for it, but I don't know if I can send a "test" score with a random photo proof and remove the whole thing before someone votes on it. That way I could test it and see if the same thing happens to me.

I also see a consistency here... All of the Record charts you mention here, all have More than one set of Brackets [ ]. I don't know if they serve a specific purpose other than just text for the title... It seems a little Farfetched though.

@DarkEonMaster:

I've already tested it, and none of them appear.  There IS a bug.

@DarkEonMaster:

I tried submitting it on HighScore.com, but the image crashed.

@derek:

We all need to do something about this, dude!

Posted by on 2016-09-09 16:43:38

it did except a youtube URL though. I'll email serious with the link though

Posted by on 2016-09-09 16:44:59

@derek:

Alright.

@derek:

But Serious is not back yet?  He should be taking care of his own site as he is the administrator.  I don't like it when he's busy though.

@ichigokurosaki1991:

I emailed him, he's always responded with in a couple days so we'll see.

You could just do a video if your impatient, the YouTube link worked on them ;)

@derek:

I'm always patient.

to admins: brackets within brackets is discouraged.

Posted by on 2016-09-09 18:33:12

@S.BAZ:

I remember dealing with the two nba jam ones above, if I remember correctly, serious had to get involved in those and shortened them himself. There's actually a limit on the length of the game title and they wound up chopped off when I added them. (Even though they weren't when clicked add)

Posted by on 2016-09-09 19:43:38

@S.BAZ:

But yeah I agree, we should try to avoid it as much as possiblesmiley

Posted by on 2016-09-09 19:50:25

@derek: Avoid what?
Posted by on 2016-09-09 22:06:01

 Brackets within brackets in game titles. Like in the list of games above, there's multiple entries like that

Posted by on 2016-09-09 22:31:48

@derek:

I could do a slide show of all scores.

Posted by on 2016-09-09 23:45:53

multiple brackets often result in a failure of the SQL queries (fetch error)

The admin of the console section where are the games should rename with only one bracket and this will normally solve the problem

Posted by on 2016-09-10 12:45:56

@derek:

(:  yeah it may not be necessarily the rule but it does look a bit more confusing to read sometimes to have brackets inside brackets.

for example: Paperboy [Hard Way [Normal]]

looks better as: Paperboy: Hard Way [Normal]  --or--  Paperboy [Hard Way] [Normal]

--or-- Paperboy [Hard Way / Normal]  --or--  Paperboy [Hard Way: Normal]   -etc,etc...

Posted by on 2016-09-10 14:48:01

@S.BAZ:

The nba jam ones don't actually have brackets in brackets ;)

Posted by on 2016-09-10 15:48:51

@S.BAZ:

Good to know. I will change the ones of 3DS and 3DS Emulator.

Posted by on 2016-09-12 13:29:12

@S.BAZ:

What do you recommend for this type of chart?

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition: Arcade [Vega [English]/Balrog [Japanese]]

For some reason, the English and Japanese versions cycle the names of Vega, Balrog, and M. Bison.
English / Japanese
Vega / Balrog

Balrog / M. Bison
M. Bison / Vega

How should we go about changing the Brackets within Brackets for these?
I wanted to change this:
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition: Arcade [Vega [English]/Balrog [Japanese]]
to this:
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition: Arcade: Vega [English]/Balrog [Japanese]
or something similar to having Vega, Balrog, and M.Bison be outside of the Brackets, but then it isn't consistent with the rest of the charts from SSF IV 3D. I would gladly go back and change all of them for the sake of consistency, but I only have access to edit the top 100 most recent...

Posted by on 2016-09-12 13:39:18

@DarkEonMaster:

Yeah, that definitely looks better IMO.   smiley

I thought maybe you could cut it down to one set of brackets, for example:

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition: Arcade: Vega [Balrog in Japanese version]

...if something like that looks better to you.

As far as inconsistency in the titles, in this case if there's a problem uploading I would just fix the ones you can, and then send a note to Serious that the others need editing for consistency.

Sounds good. Thanks for the info. :)
