I have to say, Ol chaps, that the shoot. Ups for the PCE/TG16 will put the most experienced player through the ringer. Child's play was left to Nintendo to do. These games are not afraid to hand your butt to you on a silver platter. How I missed these is a mystery. I agree. The soundtrack is catching.
I don't think it would have beenb copyrights. More like Nintendo's exclusive rights contracts. Konami was doing well on Nintendo hardware so why do something stupid. Just a thought though. Konami made the games on the PC Engine I am after so they could freely do what they wanted to with those games. I wish our TG16 looked like the Japan models. Hopefully I will get one someday. Guess I better start my letter to Santa early :)
This is a fun table!
Awesome score! I need to shoot for a hiughger score now lol.
Thanks to Serious for the awesome contests and prizes I was able to pick up a few pinball tables. So far this one is my favorite. I played it in the comfort of my new shirt, too! LOL. Thanks again, Serious!
I have this game for the Genesis. Fun shooter!
You have your High Score page up on the left where we can see your profile avatar and name. That's proof enough for me. But this game is misspelled...isn't it? Shouldn't it be Missile Command?
@derek I just viewed Amazon's options for a TG-16. Under $100 don't come with controllers...and those are proprietary controllers. It seems to be easier, albeit a little more costly, to find PC Engines with controllers, most complete with boxes even, for the price of a TG-16 that is console-only. I just don't see spending $80 on just the machine. That's obsurb.
@DakotaKid You are right. The US got the game as Life Force. I have never seen the actual arcade cabinet for this game and I didn't see the arcade game at all until a few years ago when I started toying around with MAME. My first experience with it was on the NES when it came out. It's a great game and one of the NES's hidden gems in my book. The PC Engine port blew my mind. It's a great port. It's faster and sounds better than the NES but it also is missing some of the levels that the NES had. I guess at one point Konami decided to combine two bosses in one level (the second level) on the NES. This port seems more faithful to the arcade.
One of the best in the Rush series but my favorite is Rush 2 on the N64. This one brought a lot of the elements I enjoyed in Rush 2 to the DC, though.
You must understand that this site has been hit with bogus high score submissions with names that are odd. If that is your gamer name then I'm good with it. But you do need some way to prove that you indeed played this game and made that kind of score. If you are new here then I understand why you didn't.
I recommend setting your initials with the site and on a piece of paper write the name you use here and your initials. Set it next to your monitor (or tape it there) just long enough to grab a photo of your score. That would be the best way for us to know that it is you playing that game and making the submission if you can't upload/take a video. Go and vote on other's scores and you will see what they have done to prove they made their score submissions.
If I offended you about your name then I'm sorry as that was not my intentions. Welcome to High Score and I hope you enjoy it here. But, please, find someway to place initials and/or your name in your future score submissions.
Do I hear a challenge??? I do believe I hear a challenge. Bring it on! LOL I still have lots of stuff to unlock in this game. I once beat the Gauntlet course but that was back in early 2000's. I've aged since then haha. I will post some more later tonight.
Am I the only one that is going to have issues with this? There is no proof of who played this, the 1UP score is "00", and even the name doesn't sound right. I will skip voting on this for now.
I'm running these tracks in an advanced circuit mode. I am having to start this game all over and I don't have very much unlocked...yet. I do remember spending countless hours with my cousins on this game doing the stunt missions to try to unlock stuff. I believe this is the only game I have ever played with a 4-player split screen. Some good memories and I would gladly do it again.
OK...this score is going to look familiar and that is because I accidentially posted it for the wrong track (Civic). This is actually the Marina track.
Hmm...I'm trying to figure out how 4'17.806" is lower than my previous score of 0.00.00. I don't get it.
This "game" has a bad rep. I agree with previous members as it does not belong here. Now post some scores from Atari, Sega, Nintendo and you will have my attention.
I need to get my XL that white. Mine's brown compared to that. And the magic eraser did that? How yellow was it when you got it. Very nice XL you have there. Not a scratch on it. The RF on yours works better than the one on mine. I know you will enjoy that XL. And when you do get your IDE cart give that Dr. Mario a try. I think you will be impressed. Awesome machine!
Holy bubufufu!!! That is insane!!! I have this for the Dreamcast (burned ISO so I don't think I can use it for this site) but I have not tried it. I just made sure it loaded. I never knew a game where the score reached the trillions. Awesome!!
That is the only thing about this port of Salamander/Life Force I don't like. At least with the NES port it just slaps your butt back in the game where you died.
The only thing really distracting about this game is the music. It's distracting because I've played the game so much in my younger days on the NES that I practically can hum it without thought. The PCE port music is the same as the NES so I found myself humming along and not paying attention to my ship as I should. My ship exploding and me swearing usually snaps me out of it...but only for a few minutes LOL.
I seem to have improved my game. Going to try again. Been using an old 360 controller on the PC to play these. I think I finally got the buttons setup how I like them. Still...would like to try this on real hardware someday since I seem to have missed it.
Sorry. I had accidentally posted this under the wrong game title. I think I got it right this time.
Opps. I think you are right. I'll remove this. I just seen Gunhed and that is what the game is titled so... Thanks for catching that.
TG-16 prices are higher than the PC Engines. I could afford a PCE before I could a TG16. I never understand how people thought those machines were worth that much. It's old tech, but fun tech. I guess the fun factor makes it more valuable LOL. Let me know how that Everdrive works for you.
Fun game! Got my butt handed to me in the second level, though.
Wow! Konami made some good games for the PC Engine. I wonder why the TG-16 didn't receive these games. They might have made a bit of a difference on how the TG-16 did in the U.S.A.. Not that it didn't do good but these games seem to be well polished compared to other ports of these games. Definately need the controllers with the turbo switches, though
Why didn't the TG-16 get this game?!? I had a TG-16...and I thought it sucked because I only had one game...Keith Courage. I couldn't find any other games. This makes me want a PC Engine...white, orange, blue, it wouldn't matter. If all I had was this game for a PC Engine, and the console to play on, I would be happy. I'm going to have to get one of these. I must have a controller to play it with. LOL. Excellent port Konami did of this game. And it moves a lot faster than the NES port does.
Thanks again Mark!
Thank You Mark :D
This was the best I could do on this level. Some of these levels, I believe, are made by developers so that the player will want to spend money to get power ups. Either that or I haven't found the strategy to this level. I will have to revisit this level again.
I agree. You have to learn the levels and enemy patterns. When you run out of lives you have to start over. The manholes have lots of bonus items including a weapon powerup, extra lives, and points. No continues for this one at all. I'm not even sure what cheat codes would do to help. I could see using a Game Genie on this game but it would probably cause more frustration than help. This game really can test a gamer's patients and skills. It did mine before, and still does.
Even though Atari did breach the system they did bring to the NES titles that were missing. This is easily one of the better Tengen releases and one of my favorites from them. I didn't get to own this game when the NES was in its prime. I could only find this title to rent. I didn't get this game until 2010, thanks to my wife. This is another good game and could be a diamond in the rough so to speak.
This was a real treat down memory lane for me. The last time I played this game was in 1989. I was spending the weekend with my Grandmother and had brought along the NES and my entire collection of NES games...which was at 20 games then. That particular visit was when I would beat this game from start to finish without using cheat codes. I did, however, have a third party controller that had turbo settings for the A and B buttons. That is what I used then...today I'm using standard equipment. Tonight I managed to make it to the second part of the fourth level. Those mines while trying to get a boss that refuses to stand still is a royal pain. This is a hidden gem on the NES and was the first title I would get from a third-party. I bypassed Mega Man for this. This was fun and I'll have to play it again soon.
Does this game even exsist? I don't think that a game screen shot would include the phone's life functions like battery life, signal strength, clock, etc. Screen shots from games are usually full screen games and remove those items. Right?
Thanks! I'm still working on it :D
I have a GameCube but I only have two games for it. Metroid Prime and Animal Crossing. I hope to get more GC games in the near future. Right now I'm concentrating on Original XBOX, PS2, and Atari stuff.
This table is not an easy one no matter what. All too easy to lose a ball.
Wow...only up for a minute and already down to 66% legit??? Really?
This is one console I am greatful to have in my collection. Almost ALL of my teenage years were "wasted" on this machine. This was one title, however, that I could only rent back in the day. I couldn't find it anywhere. One of my favorite oddities on this system.
This is one of those games that seems to lack a high score table. It only keeps track of the highest score per table. Only then does the player get to put their initials in. I hope this will work for evidence. If not I will try to come up with something else.
Thanks to another HS gamer I discovered a whole new set of tables to play...for free. With ads but still free. I never seen these tables before. Lots of pinball fun to be had.
I love pinball video games! I also have a GameCube which only has Metroid Prime at the moment. It's the only reason I bought a GameCube in the first place LOL. I am looking for the Pinball Hall Of Fame for the XBOX and GameCube. I really like the Pinball Arcade. I've tested some other tables. I found Bride of Pin*Bot hilarious. "Now I can talk." Pin*Bot's voice, "Oh no." Priceless.
Thanks for the votes!
I'm on a pinball kick! I've found Pinball FX2 for Android, I've found Pinball Arcade for Android, and I now have Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX2 for Steam on my PC. I really am going to go broke buying these tables! Because I know once I buy tables for one device I'm going to have to have them on the others. That's where they get you! It's a conspiracy. LOL
There's a Buick in this pinball table? Oh...I get it! The goal is to win a Buick with a pinball tourney, right? Skipping for now.
@ Mark: It's not a bad game but I feel it's overrated. I found it for Atari 8-bits. Even the 2600 got it. Voting Yes ;)
My wife got me this RCA tablet for Christmas. I forget it plays games. And then I found this pinball game with a free table. Free is good, right? So I thought I would post the score of my first time playing it. I'm going to go broke when I buy these pinball table seasons and add-ons.
If you can't see the score well in this picture I can try to post the close up shots I got...but those were blurry. My 1999 Sony camera can take excellent gaming pics...just not up close.
Hello fellow gamers!
I like this table. Hopefully I can buy these soon. This one was free to play for the month. This was my first time playing it. Nice table.
@ GTibel I'll give the recording a shot. I've always loved pinball games so I'll be around. I'm waiting for Serious to add Pinball Hall of Fame: Gottlieb Collection for the PS2 to the list of games here. And I will add scores as I obtain more table packs. It might be a while, though, because I don't make as much money as I would like to. ;)
This is played through Steam on my laptop. I just downloaded it yesterday. This is my first time playing these tables on the computer so I'm having to adjust to them. I don't know how I could add/improve visual proof of scores other than my initials in the high score table. I will be connecting the PS2 to play those tables as well. I might be investing funds into the Pinball Arcade season packs when I can. Nice tables.
I hope I am posting these right. Expert mode is more forceful than Novice...a LOT more forceful. Brutal LOL ... but a fun!
My wife and I found one of these at a yard sale a year ago for 10 cents. It's works but it is of the Donkey Kong Jr variety. I've never bought batteries for it but I just might have to look into it. Really cool to see this.
Thanks...and I'll post them again. Just been extremely busy. Things are starting to slow back down again. I've got to get back into doing videos again.
Hehe...I will. I haven't seen one of these since '94. And I just got it today ;)
I wonder if this game was even planned for the 5200. This game should have been finished (I know there is a homebrew of this game over at AtariAge).
I was wondering about that. Thanks SHiNjide! I'd still like to have the real thing but the SIO2SD device is a good way to try games to see what ones are good and which ones are duds.
Here's another classic title that I never got to play before. Interesting twist on an old favorite.
I don't know how I missed it but I have never heard of this game before. Arcade or otherwise. This was my first time playing it and I have to admit this is an addictive game. It's a real shame that this port never made it production. I know most wouldn't agree with me but it would have made a damn good addition to the 5200. The version I found has a few graphical glitches but is otherwise playable and appears complete.
I know at AtariAge this game was recently made for the 2600. I might just have to look into that. This is a very fun game!
Just an FYI: I have been fortunate enough to have an SIO2SD in my possession. One of the games I found at Atari Mania was Ms. Pac-Man. I am not sure if that game actually made it to a disk format or not. The only port of Ms. Pac-Man for the 8-bits I know of in in cart form. If this is considered a hacked ROM then please accept my apologies and I will ask to have the score taken down. Otherwise the score to this game was made on actual hardware.
Had a C64...didn't care for it too much. It's not a bad computer and, trurhfully, all these early computers are good machines. I'm just a true blue Atari fan
OK Serious...what are you using to create videos like that? I've been trying to figure out how to do something similar for a long time now.
Gotta love the Atari 8-bits. I'll give Commodore 64 credit but the Atari will always be the better computer in my mind.
This game should have been a number one hit for the Atari 2600. Instead many people, mostly kids I'm sure, ripped open the box, took the game out, and started playing. The box and instructions, along with the tips sheet, most likely got pitched in the trash. Thanks to the internet I believe that E.T. is being recognized for what it really was. Without any instructions it is impossible to know what is going on in this game. Howard did a really good job on this game!
You're lucky. I gave $7 for cart-only. $1 for this game with box and instructions is stealing. You got a good deal on a good game. It's not that bad of a game but does take some getting used to.
I'm not new to the game...just out of practice. Like 30 years out of practice.
Yea it was. And the 5200 controllers are not as bad as others claim. At least I don't think so. It was, and still is, the first console I've ever owned (since their original release). And being only 7 years old when I had it, and because it was an Atari which was a huge deal at one time, I learned the controllers on a per game basis. My controller is in desperate need of an overhaul but it still works. Q*Bert, while fun, is not my favorite on the 5200 however.
No. It's not an old score. I'm the only one that plays the game out of all of my XBOX friends. As it is I only have two XBOX friends. I made the score just before I snapped the picture.
I've been looking for this game for a long time now. Discovered a demo of it somewhere...can't remember where. Has been a hard game to come across. Nice score
Bring it! LOL. I'm in for the challenge.
Life Force for the NES (and Salamander for the Famicom for that matter) is a cake walk compared to the arcade. I've beat Life Force on the NES shortly after it was released. I love the game. I find it more appealing than Gradius.
Not my best attempt. But the sounds in my ROM set sound terrible and were very distracting. Full of static. I love Gradius but I can't deal with the sounds. Nemesis is no different.
Neat game. Seems to borrow sounds from Space Invaders, though.
I use to play the "h, e, double-hockey sticks" out of this game! It was about the only title worth owning on that thing in my opinion. However, I never did take the 15 minute break that the system tried to enforce. Playing too long made reality have a lot of red. Literally.
Believe it or not, this is one NES title my wife and I don't have in our collection. We do have it for the N64 though. Good game and great score!
Whoops. I think this is the wrong ROM set. If so, I'll ask to have this score removed and I'll redo the score. Some of these ROMs have so many variations its hard to tell one from the other just by filename. I'm downloading these as I go, too, so I'm seeing games I have never seen before. This one included. Fun little shooter.
WOW! Haven't played this game in a very long time. I forgot how much of a pain the ghosts are in this game. I didn't even make it past the third level! Why didn't Atari make these games for their consoles?
Thanks. I use MALA for my front-end since it is the easiest for me to customize to my liking. I am not sure if it comes with a recording option or not. I'll have to look into it. But as long as just a screenshot will work then I'm OK with that.
Out of all of the arcade games Sega made this one is the one I like the most. If I could own just one arcade cab this would be that cab. I'm working on reaching one of the five goals in this game but the controller I use has started to become faulty for some reason so this will have to do for now.
Fun game but a LOT more difficult than the NES port. I especially like the way upgrades are delivered in the arcade game over the NES port.
I've never posted a score for a 360 game (I don't think??? Can't remember). But this is one Indie Game that I found which is a lot of fun. Those that enjoy Enduro for the 2600 would like, and appreciate, this title. And it's only a buck! I hope the information I uploaded is enough proof.
The program I discovered to record anything on a computer screen was a trial version and would not do anything. A simple screenshot with me placing my name, nickname, game title, date of score, and what I played it on, is the best I can do at this time.
I had that same issue. All I did was stand in the gap just before the area where the enemies come from and as soon as I shot an enemy I ran for the prize. Stay there, shoot another enemy, then continue on your journey. Worked for me. I will have to try again later.
You just had to try and beat my score, didn't ya? LOL. Nice. Great score!
I had this game for the Tandy CoCo 3 and Sega CD. It was an awesome game on both ports. Never played the DOS version though. Doesn't look too impressive. However, game play can always rock when the graphics aren't that good. Nice score!
These homebrews need to be in cartridge form more often.
If you can "stack" the "mushrooms" just right, the centipede will cascade down in one spot making it an easy kill. Awesome score!
We're adults?!? When did that happen?
I've tried and tried and tried again after posting this score. I can't even make it to the third level now. GRR! "I'll get you my pretty! And all the treasures you hold, too!!"
The scoring on this game sucks compared to the arcade and CV versions. And my copy was suppose to be a Coleco cart. Instead I got the one with the crappy red label (hate those labels because they look so cheap). I'd love a good challenge so I can't wait to see if you can beat my score. Oh...another thing that frustrates me in this game...the fire button. Used to activate a "power up" and move the doors depending on how long you hold it down. I don't know how many times I wanted to move a door and turned into a dog and vice versa. Some of gamings funnier moments I guess.
I know that's right. And I also know that I'd rather spend $60 on some used Atari carts than on a new game for a modern console. There's just not that many games in development these days that make me want to jump up off the couch, drive to the store, and shell out $60. I know that Atari games are old...almost as old as me...but I know what I'm getting and I know that I won't be disappointed. Besides, $60 can get a helluva lot of 2600 games.
Not a bad game. Mouse Trap is better on the ColecoVision though. Too bad this game isn't on the 5200.
I would assume the game to be easier through emulation since you can remap joystick buttons to keyboard buttons to better simulate pinball flipper buttons. Using the actual joystick can be an issue sometimes.
I think I just discovered my favorite 2600 game of all-time. This game is so much fun! And I'm using the standard joystick. Nothing special. I'm going to play this game all day to see just how high of a score I can reach. I finally made it to X5 score multiplier on my third ball...then lost it! This game is addictive.
Just like SIXX said, find an emulator that will record video. If JNES doesn't set good with you then try FCEUX. It records your games while you play. Nice gaming!
My wife gets on to me for spending "too much time" on our console collection. But when I ask her if she wants to play all I get is, "No. I want to play my FB games." Really?
Awesome, gaming, SIXX!
This became an instant hit on the NES. I never owned this port though and found the Master System version to be more to my liking. Awesome gaming!
I believe the left side of the screen being cut off is due to the emulator inside the FB3 console. Does it do it with all the FB3 games or just this one? Also, you might try to see if the LCD has a feature where the TV tries to zoom the image. Our 40" LCD has this feature and will sometimes cut images off both sides of the screen. Just some ideas to check. Great score!
This is one game that amazes me the most out of all the 2600 games. It was one game when I first discovered it decades ago that I expected the usual blocky graphics and odd sounds. Once a game is started, however, the player is almost immediately sucked into the game and they forget that they are playing a game on a 2600. I know I do. My only gripe is the flipper control scheme because I became accustomed to the likes of Pin*Bot where you used the D-Pad for the left flipper and a fire button for the right flipper. I don't know how many times I've tried to use the fire button on this game to control the flipper Huge mistake.
This game was one I received without a label of any kind. I'm working on making a reproduction label for it. I have never owned this game before and I didn't know anything about it. This is a fun game even if the controls are a bit sloppy at times. Made it to the 4th map on my second try.
Thanks. I was doing good but those pesky, jerky, paddle controllers can be such a pain. I've since cleaned them up and will try again another day.
I have 14 consoles with the 5200 being my favorite. The 2600 was not that much fun for me from the beginning. The tables have turned and the 2600 is right there beside the 5200. I don't think I could live a day without either one
Thanks. I usually do videos but I couldn't find my webcam :( I know it's in one of my controller drawers somewhere.
I just got this game the other day from Atari2600.com and it was like having a family reunion. :)
Hopefully you can get a 5200 someday. Yea they were known for their controller issues but that is to be expected on a 30 year old system. How many 2600 controllers are discovered in poor shape these days? The 5200 remains my personal all-time favorite console and I highly believe that it has achieved everything Atari set out to do when they designed it. Loads of arcade hits that perform well even those that don't look identical to the arcade originals.
I use to own this game during the NES craze and it is a blast to play. Never got that high of a score though. Nice high score!
Back when I first discovered this game when I bought a used woodgrain during the early 1990s I had this game and didn't find it that much fun. For some strange reason it is more fun now than it was back then. So far, that has been the case with most of the 2600 games I have now. It really is amazing what this little console that "wasn't suppose to" can actually do.
This game is for sure a challenge to play. I can't make it very far in the game on the Regular setting (default). I tried it on Novice a few times and it is a bit easier but all that does is slow down the speed of everything to be killed. This game really gives a 5200 controller a work out. Would love to try this game with a Trak-Ball someday.
What is a USB Grabber? Nice to see some TG-16 game play. I use to have one but the only game I could find for it was the pack-in game Keith Courage. That game wasn't too bad but did get boring pretty quick for me.
I just received my order for some 2600 games and one aftermarket joystick (Archer Competition Deluxe). It's great to see some old friends again.
Thank you, Serious. Have missed my HS friends Time to get back to posting some more high scores I think. The site is looking really good. If you ever need anything hit me up. I will be more than willing to help the best I can.
