To highscore.com: this score should be removed from this site. When I submitted it with the right evidence it reached only 45.2% of 'yes' votes ( http://www.highscore.com/scores/Atari2600/Frostbite/84659 ). This 100% legit only happened because I presented as evidence a video wich doesn't relate to this 552,590 score. This wrong video evidence was uploaded by mistake and I ask the removal of this score from the Frostbite 2600 valid scores list.

@GTibel:

Because I posted the first one with a wrong evidence and people voted 'yes' believing the video was from this 552,590 score. Much later I watched ZilchSr video and I realized I only had the final picture and the video wasn't related to this score.

I don't want to have a score aproved only because I provided a wrong evidence, so I posted the score with the only evidence I have and majority of people voted 'no'.

Thus, I hope highscore.com will delete my 552,590 score since when voters had the right evidence, it got 45.2% legit, not enough to be listed.

I believe when this score gets the 7 votes it needs to end the voting process, both my former score and this submition won't be listed in this site (since I won't reach the 80% yes votes). It that's not the case, I ask HighScore.com admins to remove the my former score.

Not true, I said on AtariAge I was considering to record a new attempt to break the 552k. I don't know, however, how long it could take. Shawn wrote he would bring to admins the issue so AtariAge would have a protocol to deal with this kind of matter. Even if I can't break the 552k maybe THEY would consider something above 500k. I know it gets faster around every 50k and I'm not worried about what YOU think or even about my frostbite record, I care a LOT about my name not about highscore glory or frostbite 1st place score.

You didn't show the error on my video about the 477k score. That would immediately wake up me for my mistake!

You talked about my picture (which was taken from a real hardware final game image) and you said I was cheating. I never had anything to rectify about that image, it may not give enough evidence but it has nothing to be rectified.

When I first submitted the score, it was common that users from highscore.com submitted only a picture. I saw the tendency of more robust evidence and started to add my name on the pictures, then I started to record some videos in the emulator cathegory. Finally, I stopped using highscore.com because I just wanted to play in AtariAge HSC and post my AtariAge HSC pics here and I saw highscore.com's voters started to require video proof. Recording a video of every attempt takes the fun away for me. I never wanted to participate in such strict rules... I fully understand and I respect what voters want from highscore.com. I could just remove my score but I was called a cheater and offended, that's why I prefer to correct my mistake in the first submition while defending my name. I don't really care about Frostbite score, I care about my reputation.

This is an old record I had submitted in 8-29-2013 as you can see in the first time I submitted it.

In 2014-05-21 I revisited the score and I discovered there wasn't the picture you now see above. I just stated publicly the following: "(05/03/2014) If I remember correclty, I put a picture with my final score of 552,590 when I submitted this socre. Now I only see my video which, unfortunately, doesn't show the final score. Well, at least the video shows some skills to get this score (and was voted as a legit one).

But I left the page with only the video as evidence, you can watch the video here: https://youtu.be/UOzd8ODkGSQ

Only in 2018-02-11, when I found the picture of my score, I put a link to everyone.

Just yesterday, I realized that the video couldn't be of my 552k score. In the same video I had described it as a game that ended with 477,730.

That was a mistake on my part, I've submitted my score careless, I didn't upload the picture and I pointed to a video that doesn't relate to this score.

It wasn't intentional and if anyone had showed me that error, I would correct it as I always correct any mistake I make in a public and open way.

So, knowing people had voted this 552,590 score based on a wrong evidence (submitted only by mistake); I am now submitting my score of 552,590 once again. This time with the right evidence.

@ZilchSr:

Well, I didn't know your 454k is the Guiness Book of world records. But, speaking of context, my score over 550k is the highscore.com world record because it was considered 100% legit by the voters. That's the context in this site, that's how it works here and how it got accepted, either you like it or not.

Since you really like to offend me, I'm not inclined in making any video for you. If you want it, be proud with your 454k world record recognized by Guiness. I really don't need your approval of my scores, I even don't post in highscore.com anymore!

If you don't accept my score, that's not my problem. Go to Serious and ask him to take it out. Peace.

@ZilchSr:

1) I probably can get 450k any day, 500k with some effort but we're talking about my all time best score. I got that after one week playing for the Atari Age HSC. Years after that we played Frostbite again and I couldn't beat my old score. So don't expect me to beat my best overall score that easily.

2) As I said, I played on real hardware and still got all these acusations. So what if I go through all the playing and recording and then, you, the specialist, say there's something with my Atari 7800, or with my controller or something else very "fishy"? I already have in my phone a failed attempt around 490k and, ironicly, the video stops when I was in the last life just before dying - damn it! So I guess that doesn't make a good evidence for you, especially since I've already sent my incomplete 30 min 460k points video and you still claim your 454k is the world record!

3) I've joined Highscore.com in the very begining, Many of my scores were the very first of a game and I didn't see any minimum requirement over that I was using in AtariAge. I was playing in AtariAge weekly HSC and Serious, also a user from AtariAge, invited us to join this website. I've posted some records using AtariAge pics (popeye is an example: http://www.highscore.com/scores/Atari2600/Popeye/409 ). Some time later, I started to get lower voting rating and I added my name on a paper (Dig Dug: http://www.highscore.com/score/?s=34382).

Then I tried some videos in the emulation cathegory but, at least for me, it took away the fun giving me all the recording trouble. So I stopped posting scores in HighScore.com bc people were expecting full proof and recording isn't my thing.

@ZilchSr:

Dude, I never had anything to rectify! I just played and posted my valid score, nothing to hide.

I stopped posting here because I don't like all the trouble to set cameras and record. It's only a hobby I have. If I'm good, that's because I play Atari since I was 6 years old.

Now, it really annoys me to be called a cheater because I didn't upload enough evidence and someone thinks I was playing on emulation. If you need or want the world record, go for it! I watched your video and I never got past the 600k mark, so you have a nice chance.

Just don't say crap about me.  I don't cheat, so if you think you have some 'proof', think twice before posting nonsenses, maybe check with someone else or try another game in which your own scores aren't involved.

1. It's not fair to be called a cheater only because I didn't record all the enviroment to prove I was playing on a real hardware.

2. In the beginning I used some free online photo hosting service to post on Highscore.com (I believe it was photobucket), I even don't know if we still can't upload directly to highscore. I lost the hosting service after a long time without loging in. I can't confirm 100% I sent a picture when submitting my score but I believe I did it, and then possibily my pic was removed when I lost my account by inactivity... Anyway, when I checked my frostbite score I saw there wasn't any evidence of the final score! When finally I could find my original picture, I posted a link to it.

In the picture you can see the message "state 0 load error.". That's because the program I used to record my game play(camtasia) uses F10 to stop recording, F10 is also used to load states in stella, so, since I did NOT used saves, I got the message error.

I'm returning to Highscore.com and forgot to put my name on this one. At least, I can tell I already hold the maximum score in emulation for a while now.

The secret to get maximum points is to save grampa with the right amount of points so: bonus + your_current_points = 9999990.

You save once, note your points and final results then go for another game.

@jersh: It was for the easiest setting. Dragonfire doesn't show in a pic the dif. level... But we can ask Serious to add new entries for each dif level, then voters would probably ask for video proof in order to vote yes in medium or hard entries. By the way, great Pac-man game, a pitty I'm not good on it.

To be honest, that's one thing I like in these computers and the 5200, it isn't much different than 2600 but with its own graphics and colours style. 5200 is too big and has problematic controls, I'm thinking in getting an 800xl and a multicart for a twist in my 2600 games.

I was watching the video when I noticed the first level repeated... This is a difficult game to set rules for. It rewards a player by repeating the level when you don't hit the hidden wanted poster and doesn't buy it.

Hmm... After watching a little of the video I noticed an expected issue with this game. I really don't know what is the best way to play gunsmoke for high scores purpose. Unfortunately the game rewards you by repeating the level when you miss the 'wanted' poster and don't buy it. A 'no repeat the level' rule would be good for high scores but this rule certainly would ruin the fun, especially when you miss a poster on a later level... I don't like too restrictive rules.

You can choose your starting points from these options ( 0, 10k, 20k ... up to 60k). Difficulty starts according to your starting points.

I started from 0 point because that's the default (which matches this cathegory). If you ask me, it's a bit easier to get very high scores starting from 0 than from 60 since you can earn extra lives.

I decided to stop at 106685, only a bit over 100k because this game has a glitch that can happen after 100k and (if I remember correctly) the player gets extra lives. The player doesn't really have control on the glitch, it may or may not happen. Eventually, I'm going to record a video for higher scores.

There should be a regular and advanced speed entries, tracer shots or direct shots could be in the same regular or advanced speed since it's more of a personal taste in my opinion.

Well, usually I'm getting 100% or only one no vote for Atari 2600 not emulated.

If you get your no vote in the begining you start with very low rating and grows up (0% -> 50% -> 66% -> 75% ...)

So, early 'no votes' can give a bad impression at the begining. But, ultimately, sometimes you never know why you're getting some 'no votes'... Some people gives 'no' only for the 'I know it's false' while others may only give the 'yes' for 'I know it's true'. What to do in the doubt zone? I bet we have the non voters, the yes voters for doubts and the no votes for doubts!

That's diversity and may be a good thing. Good thing is to play fair and post as you enjoy most, avoiding being worried too much with some no votes.

When there's no description on difficulty, I choose the most fun to me. In this case I started at bike and played B/B which means 5 starting lives (opposed to 3)  and Fast Player Speed (opposed to Normal Speed); according to manual there are only normal and fast speed, not turbo.  These settings are the default.

I agree. I saw some games with only one category, in my opinion, you can choose any difficulty level for these (meaning higher scores will probably be settled in easiest mode).

Personally, I choose the more funier mode when I can choose. smiley Usually slower settings on Intellivision are too slow and boring.

Anyway, I'm going to talk to Serious about this one and how we should bring all Intellivision difficulties. (see my comments on Tron Deadly Discs)

Thank you, Serious.

But [Skill 1] doesn't seem too obvious because the order of difficulty is [keypad 3: slowest]; [keypad 2: slower]; [keypad 1: slow]; [Disc : fastest]. So, skill one is the slowest that begins pressing keypad 3 or skill 1 is started by pressing keypad #1 (slow)?

Intellivision doesn't use skill 1, skill 2 .... consistently as Colecovision does. imo, it's better to explicity say [disc], [keypad #1], [keypad #2] in general.

Then, if a game has well known skill levels with better discriptive words; you can use specific names for variations (not Tron's case with common 'fatest', 'slow' etc generic names which didn't even appear in the overlays).

Since there is no specification, any difficulty level should be allowed to play. This game has 4 difficulties in order from slower to fastest: keypad #3, keypad #2, keypad #1 and disc entry. I played using the disc (fastest) but you can vote considering slowest since this pic can't show it and the category allows any difficulty.

For this game It's better to post with video evidence because you don't know what level of difficulty it was played and the game makes it easy to farm points.

That's why I chose "Biginner" (the easiest) and went all way down to level Z, where I stopped. Next time, I plan to record videos for rolling levels back to level A and higher difficulties.

You aren't in any manner lying or cheating on us. I only think we have different interpretations about games. 1) This is an emulated score by definition. (assuming you used the wii as you honestly showed, thank you for that) 2) I read general rules for a High Score challenge as I stated in the "default entry" mentioned above. It seems you understand we should play as the "Special entry" do whatever the game lets you do! I don't think this should be the normal interpretation of a game competition. As I said, I thank you for being honest and showing how you play by videos and pictures. You show the wii, show the level etc. It's just a matter of interpretation on rules and settings before submitting scores.

Here are my thoughts about these type of games: Default Entry --> You can't exploit bugs and you can't point farming. Just play the game as it is intended. So, in my humble opinion, this isn't/wouldn't be legit. Special entry --> grab the more points the game allows you by exploiting bugs, going beyond the programmer intended (still you can't cheat by TAS, turbo controllers etc). Special entry (one life only) --> Play as default but don't use more than 1 life. Pick your high score When you die first time. Don't keep playing.

I rolled the score and proceeded up to 1,757,000. You can see it's not only 757k by checking the rack 88 (level 88). Although it's not possible to verify it was played in Expert/A, that doesn't make much differencde. In Novice/B you move slow and press button to move faster, in Expert/A you move fast and press B to move slower. So it's more a matter of preference rather than difficulty.

That was good for the challenge on youtube. But for Highscore I think it's better to not have tha main game cathegory'Mario Kart 64' only for 50cc, mario in Luigi raceway. It sounds better to have a 50cc total or per track, 100cc total or per track and 150cc total or per track. At first, it's better to let the player choose his fav racer. So, your score would be a Mario Kart 64: 50cc, Luigi raceway or would be disqualified if only totals for each kart type are to be recorded in Highscore.

At the risk of creating another multi-entry cathegories of one game, I would say Mario Kart 64 has little to do with specific 'choose mario in 50CC on Luigi raceway'. If there's a total for 50cc and others, that total is good for any racer (pick the one you like). If there's not such total, then a 50cc Luigi raceway, 100cc? Luigi raceway ... ... 50cc rainbow raceway, 1000cc rainbow raceway etc.

This score was achieved in Game 1 A. Game 1 B would be more difficult.

Hi Gorfy, I was testing javatari when I realized current World Score in HS was around 25k. Then I posted! It seems I should post a higher one... :) Arenafoot, that's http://javatari.org/ It's cool, isn't it?

The only difference from difficulty B and A is the continous music. B plays it all the time while A stops the music.

King of the Mountain has a map like Super Mario Bros 3 and you can choose your path through mountains to climb. I died in mountain 2 after passing mountain 1, in other words, mountain 1, 2, 3 ... isn't related to a skill level to choose but natural phases of the game.

I noticed there's a disc level entry for scores. Astrosmash doesn't have multiple levels to select from begining.

I believe James will need some months to make the custom game cartridge. I'm going to schedule a chat with him to decide what features we can put in the game. I'll certainly record the new game.

The video shows only the final part of gameplay. The Games happened for the second (2013) Christmas Carol vs. World contest. http://www.carolvsghost.com/cvw/pg_contest.html

There's the missing safety zone and qotile starts to change direction! This guy makes great reviews and he shows it! But he's playing on B, not A. http://youtu.be/sIwLL2XaFiU

The white dot on the top right shows it was played in the fastest speed (enter disc). Intellivision usually has many difficulty options, for high scores comparison, I prefer the hardest one when it's easy to prove by a simple screen shot. As in this case.

I'm always much concentrated to note the time I'm spending playing... I think it took only around 30 minutes. Yars is one of the game I grew with. This is my first try to get a highscore posted!

I can't remember what level it was... And yes, the yellow score is another way to tell it's above 1 million.
