Why thank you. These have been waiting for the required 25 votes for most of the TG16 contest. I was 2 votes away from being awarded the world trophy for Bonk's Adventure and I ended up posting a much better score and resetting the count back to 25 (it was worth it, my latest game was my best ever)
You actually get points?! I was looking through the video but I missed that :/ that was the first time I ever beat the TG16 version (I had played through the NES version which is surprisingly faithful to the original)
I've never played the game, but everything I know about it came from this:
This video made me want to track down the lightgun I loaned my brother.
Looks like you got 1,064,100, shouldn't you repost with your better score?
I got voted down for not being on an original NES (for Wizards & Warriors on a Reton3 with original NES gamepad), is that still the standard?
This is one of the two NES games my dad bough when he picked up the system (from Sears). This and Metroid. Even though this was one of my first NES experinces (we had a Atari 5200 thoughmy dad played it much more than my brother and I), I hated this game so much :)
I did eventually get a 3DO but for $35 at a pawn shop. The Jaguar was $249 (I think) I had to sell my Turbo Express and games to afford it (in hindsight it might not have been my smartest moment). The friend I sold it to also bought a Jaguar, he was quite the rich kid :/ I also knew a kid who owned a NeoGeo and a Turbo CD. I'm sure a lot of people considered me a rich kid but the level that some of my friends seemed to get games and systems always made me feel poor.
I bought mine during the pre-release period in San Francisco. A friend and I waited for 3 hours at an EB Games for it. I think the 2 systems we bought were the only ones they sold that day. I got home and played Cyber Morph and started to think I made a horrible mistake. I still love the system but it's a very acquired taste :)
Just added a new highlight that covers the last few lives (and goes beyond the original, which I had clipped too soon)
Also if you are still bummed about the missing track then this should help http://sndtst.com/Dragon_Spirit :)
I had to step away from my game for a moment, so I stopped my stream. I came back and ended up dieing 4 minutes later :/
I had to step away for a moment right as I got to the last set of bosses. I did alright but not well enough to get to the final boss.

I took pictures along the way (I didn't plan on setting a high score so I hadn't set up my Twitch.tv channel) but the picture I took when I finally died was blurry (the score was 268,350, but you can't see it clear enough, so I'm going with the last clear picture). I'll take another stab at this if anyone challenges me :)
What emulator did you use? If you don't set the dip switches you are only given 5:00 to play. I finally bought one of the repo carts just to play it on a TV with the official time :)
There were 2 deaths that just felt liie wasn't being careful. I think I can make it to the end of the game if I try a little harder. Hands down this is one of my favorite games :) and I love the sound test as well :)
I just beat this score on an original NES http://highscore.com/score/index.php?s=14987 with pictures and a Twitch video :)
I posted a picture to prove that I didn't warp back to the start of the game, and as you can clearly see I am using an original NES (I actually still have the box) :)
I just chimed in on the emulation/vs original debate, so I should have known better, in my defense, it was an original NES pad and cartridge so the exeperiance is rather close (but honestly not technically perfect, though I haven't found any part of the game that is more or less forgiving or even different, it is not official silicon). I'll just have to try again on my NES, still a great game to play so I don't need much prompting :)
I was able to get as far as the castle and I had collected the red key (inside the pink door with all of those annoying blue skulls), but I died on my way out. This is the farthest in the game I have ever made without continuing :)
Also I live streamed the game on my twitch channel (to all of 2 people :)
Sorry about the rotation, the picture was taken with my iPhone and this site gets triped up by the rotation EXIF data.
Yes this was original hardware. Here is my (current) setup: I have a TG16 with the Turbo Booster Plus, this is plugged into the Elgato HD which is conencted to my MacBook (via USB) and my television (via HDMI). I have OSX 10.9 (newest before the developer Yosemite Preview Release) so I have to use the Game Capture 1.4.2 software and not the newest 2.0 OSX version (it keeps crashing on the latest OSX). I looked at a lot of examples of streaming hardware on YouTube and I liked the quality of this one, plus I saw it work with the NeoGeo and the TG16 which are the two big systems I wanted it to work with.
When I pushed my score past 500,000 I gave up trying after I beat S.BAZ with 22 lives to spare (you can see it in my screenshot). I guess I'll have to breakout the game again and try and push past 1,000,000. I am loving the compition :)
514,670! I know I can do better, but honestly it took so much time I think this is as high as I'm willing to go on this game. My secret is to end up with as many lives as I can to the second to last boss in 4-3 (the cloud that sends birds flying your way). The bids die in one hit and are worth 400 points each, so I just run the clock out shooting down these birds. In this last game I got to the final level with with over 360,000 already (I also obsessivly got every coin and badguy I could), and as you can see I ended with 22 lives left so I think I could get up past 1,000,000 but my fingers are so tired :P
I just cracked 500,000!!! :) Now on to Wizards & Warriors :)
:) hey do you think playing this game on the Super Game Boy would be considered emulated? I'm kind of leaning toward yes because part of the challenge is the punishingly small controls and blurry screen. I think I can push this past 500k, it just takes patience
I own a Goldstar 3DO, now I have to try post a score, possibly from Soccer Kid :)
