The only reason they got Sega games on the NES was because of Tengen distributing them.  I remember when Tengen first appeared they were licensed by Nintendo of America, but after the Tetris debacle, they went independent.

Yeah, and i know of other Sega games like Altered Beast ported to the NES, but not sure if Tengen was the company behind it as well.  But man, a little more effort on Shinobi could've been nice...

The Master System had a very good port.  I liked the health bar added instead of the one hit kill system on the Arcade.
