@doguhnew:
Yeah, it's really strange how bad it was, since if they had competent enough programmers it shouldn't have been bad, even if, like the Atari 2600 version, they could only do two screens. I played it at a friend's house down the street back in the day and couldn't believe how bad it was.
@DarrylB:
Yeah, as a kid I couldn't stand it. What's even worse is that I played this game for about a week straight as I was determined to beat the high score. I'm putting it back in its box for hopefully a long time! YES on ALL! :) I never could understand why companies did this, because it hurts the company's reputation. But Coleco wasn't alone, as Mattel did it too. It's happened much more recently too. There's a Youtube vid going through some of the more recent attempts from software developers to intentionally make bad games. There are 2 much better versions of this game made by an after market game developer could DK Arcade and DK Arcade 2. Yes from me of course |
I accidently misclicked this one and originally posted it under Space Armada as it was the next game on "my goals" list. Sorry for everyone who noticed that! Anyway, like I said before, this version of Donkey Kong is the worst ever made, intentionally by Coleco. Thanks for voting!
